Kellogg Co. announced on Tuesday its decision to pull ads from conservative media giant\u00a0Breitbart.com\u00a0because its 45,000,000 monthly conservative readers are not \u201caligned with our values as a company.\u201d In response, Breitbart News, one of the world\u2019s top news publishers, has launched a #DumpKelloggs petition and called for a boycott of the ubiquitous food manufacturer.<\/h2>\n

The decision by Kellogg\u2019s, which makes Pringles, Eggo waffles, as well as Special K and Frosted Flakes cereals, among others, will make virtually no revenue impact on\u00a0Breitbart.com<\/span><\/a>. It does, however, represent an escalation in the war by leftist companies like Target and Allstate<\/span>\u00a0against conservative customers whose values propelled Donald Trump into the White House.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe regularly work with our media-buying partners to ensure our ads do not appear on sites that aren\u2019t aligned with our values as a company,\u201d\u00a0said<\/span><\/a> Kellogg\u2019s flak Kris Charles. \u201cWe recently reviewed the list of sites where our ads can be placed and decided to discontinue advertising on\u00a0Breitbart.com<\/span><\/a>. We are working to remove ads from that site.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Kellogg\u2019s offered no examples of how Breitbart\u2019s 45 million monthly readers fail to align with the breakfast maker\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>values. Indeed, the move appears to be one more example of <\/span>an<\/span> out-of-touch<\/span>\u00a0corporation<\/span>\u00a0embracing false left-wing narratives <\/span>used to cynically smear the hard working Americans that populate this nation\u2019s heartland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alexander Marlow encouraged the boycott of Kellogg\u2019s products,\u00a0describing\u00a0their war against\u00a0Breitbart\u00a0News\u00a0as\u00a0bigoted and\u00a0anti-American: \u201cBreitbart News is the largest platform for pro-family content anywhere on the Internet. We are fearless advocates for traditional American values, perhaps most important among them is freedom of speech, or our motto \u2018more voices, not less.\u2019 For Kellogg\u2019s, an American brand, to blacklist Breitbart News in order to placate left-wing totalitarians is a disgraceful act of cowardice. They insult our incredibly diverse staff and spit in the face of our 45,000,000 highly engaged, highly perceptive, highly loyal readers, many of whom are Kellogg\u2019s customers. Boycotting Breitbart News for presenting mainstream American ideas is an act of discrimination and intense prejudice. If you serve Kellogg\u2019s products to your family, you are serving up bigotry at your breakfast table.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, Breitbart launched its #DumpKelloggs petition to encourage its vast readership and the followers of its\u00a0#1 in the world political Facebook and Twitter<\/span><\/a>\u00a0pages to ban bigotry from the breakfast table <\/span>by boycotting Kellogg\u2019s products.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKellogg\u2019s has shown its contempt for Breitbart\u2019s 45 million readers and for the main street American values that they hold dear,\u201d said Breitbart President and CEO, Larry Solov. \u201cPulling its advertising from Breitbart News is a decidedly cynical and un-American act. The only sensible response is to join together and boycott Kellogg\u2019s products in protest.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
