There&#8217;s nothing magic about regulations, too much is bad, too little is bad.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Less than one year earlier, Democratic media adviser Mandy Grunwald suggested to Podesta in another <a href=\"http:\/\/wikileaks.org\/podesta-emails\/emailid\/54085\">communication<\/a> leaked Monday that Clinton should take a conciliatory tone with regard to Wall Street.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI would include something from the Maggie Haberman piece on HRC&#8217;s Goldman Sachs speech,\u201d<\/em> writes Grunwald.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSomething like, &#8220;When HRC recently spoke to bankers at Goldman Sachs, instead of holding them accountable for their activities that crashed the economy, she told them that banker bashing was foolish and had to stop. She said &#8220;soothing&#8221; that we all got into our economic problems together.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Illegal ivory\u2019 as leverage on China<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hillary Clinton <a href=\"http:\/\/wikileaks.org\/podesta-emails\/emailid\/53005\">directed<\/a> her now-campaign chair Podesta to use reports of illegal elephant tusk smuggling by Chinese government officials as <em>\u201cleverage\u201d<\/em> during a 2014 White House visit to the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Three days before President Obama\u2019s visit to Beijing in November 2014, the former secretary of state highlighted a NY Times <a href=\"http:\/\/mobile.nytimes.com\/blogs\/sinosphere\/2014\/11\/05\/chinese-presidents-delegation-tied-to-illegal-ivory-purchases-during-africa-visit\/\">article<\/a> on how Chinese delegates reportedly smuggled home poached ivory from Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>A message from Clinton\u2019s hrod17@clintonemail.com opens by praising Podesta\u2019s <em>\u201cteasing\u201d<\/em> of reporters and<em>\u201cflashes\u201d<\/em> of a smile at a recent press conference before asking the then-White House adviser to raise the ivory story with China\u2019s president directly.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOn China, I know you\u2019ll be in Beijing next week, so am sending a news report about how Xi\u2019s official party on its visit to Tanzania loaded up their planes w poached ivory, likely w full knowledge of [President Jakaya] Kikwete\u2019s government,\u201d<\/em> Clinton writes.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cPlease raise this issue directly w XI, both because it is critical on the merits but also because it&#8217;s another way you can gain some leverage with the Chinese.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The email subject line was, <em>\u201cBelow is what I sent POTUS on election and China poaching.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/2014\/11\/11\/fact-sheet-president-obama-s-visit-china\">\u2018fact sheet\u2019<\/a> provided by the White House regarding Obama\u2019s visit shows discussions centered on the ebola crisis, economic relations, and a<em> \u201cshared vision for Afghanistan.\u201d <\/em>An effort to work together to<em> \u201cstop the trade in illegal wildlife products\u201d <\/em>is also mentioned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clinton \u2018totally blew\u2019 crime question<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>New York Mayor Bill de Blasio thought Clinton <em>\u201ctotally blew\u201d<\/em> a debate question about her support for a controversial federal crime bill passed by her husband.<\/p>\n<p>In a March 2016 <a href=\"http:\/\/wikileaks.org\/podesta-emails\/emailid\/53061\">email<\/a>, de Blasio was less than impressed with Clinton\u2019s attempt to pass off a question on mass incarceration to her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders back in March.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHillary was fantastic on the gun control answer, then totally blew the mass incarceration question,\u201d<\/em> de Blasio wrote to Podesta.<\/p>\n<p>The question was posed during a live CNN debate by anchor Don Lemon, who asked Clinton why black people should trust her to end a pattern of mass incarceration when she supported a 1994 law which many blame for <em>\u201clocking up a generation of black men.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Clinton began her answer by reminding people that Sanders also supported the bill, a tactic which appears to have irked Mayor de Blasio.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Don Lemon Calls Clinton Out For 1994 Crime Bill Support\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ddi37rCznF4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhy on Earth did she say \u2018Are you going to ask Senator Sanders that question?\u2019 instead of just addressing the issue,\u201d<\/em> de Blasio wrote.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhen she makes it about her, she loses the high ground. Stating the obvious, I know, but she keeps doing it\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Podesta brothers plan to influence India on NGO clampdown<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Podesta sought to enlist the help of his lobbyist brother to influence an Indian Intelligence Bureau crackdown on Greenpeace and a key donor, the Ford Foundation, Monday\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/wikileaks.org\/podesta-emails\/emailid\/53071\">leaked emails reveal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"arcticle__read-more read-more\">\n<p><a class=\"read-more__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/321075-greenpeace-india-license-canceled\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"read-more__cover\" src=\"http:\/\/img.rt.com\/files\/2015.11\/thumbnail\/563cc62ac4618801578b45a7.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9\u00a0Manjunath Kiran\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"read-more__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/321075-greenpeace-india-license-canceled\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"read-more__footer\">India cancels Greenpeace license, orders NGO to close within 30 days<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Correspondence between John and Tony Podesta from May 2015 show the pair planned a lunch with the Indian ambassador to discuss a <em>\u201cvery serious situation\u201d<\/em> facing Greenpeace in which the Indian government accused the group of financial irregularities. The claims eventually led to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/321075-greenpeace-india-license-canceled\/\">cancellation<\/a> of its license to operate there.<\/p>\n<p>The bid to influence India\u2019s decision-making came at the request of Karen Sack, managing director of conservation group Ocean Unite, who asked if John Podesta could get in touch with his brother at The Podesta Group.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cApparently The Podesta Group has the contract for the Republic of India in the US, but Kumi [Naidoo, Greenpeace executive director] has no way to reach Tony or another principal,\u201d<\/em> Sack writes.<\/p>\n<p>John Podesta forwarded the<em> \u201csmall request\u201d<\/em> to his brother, highlighting Kumi Naidoo\u2019s large following globally.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWant to talk to the head of Greenpeace? Kumi Naidoo is a very well known South African with a big international following, but I think the GOI [Government of India] likely to stick it to them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He also explained he was trying to use his influence to help the Ford Foundation charity, which had similarly <em>\u201cgot on the wrong side of GOI\u201d<\/em>. However, he expressed a belief that their <a href=\"http:\/\/in.reuters.com\/article\/india-politics-ngo-idINKCN0PO15U20150715\">issue<\/a><em> \u201ccan be more easily resolved.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A reply from Tony Podesta proposes a lunch with an Indian ambassador as well as confirmation he would be <em>\u201chappy\u201d<\/em> to talk to Greenpeace.<\/p>\n<p>A leaked July 2015 email about funding shows Podesta describing global charity the Ford Foundation as a <a href=\"http:\/\/wikileaks.org\/podesta-emails\/emailid\/32047\">\u201cmainstay\u201d<\/a> for the Center for American Progress think-tank, which he founded in 2003.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clinton\u2019s emails could \u2018either win 49 states, or lose 49 states\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As previously <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/363746-podesta-clinton-wikileaks-emails\/\">reported<\/a>, in March of 2015, Clinton\u2019s camp were debating whether Hillary should make a joke about her <em>\u201cemail situation\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Staffers were <em>\u201cnervous\u201d<\/em> about the <em>\u201cpotentially nuts\u201d<\/em> move and, in <a href=\"http:\/\/wikileaks.org\/podesta-emails\/emailid\/55435\">freshly leaked<\/a>\u00a0correspondence, sought advice from Philippe Reines \u2013 a former senior adviser from Clinton\u2019s days as Secretary of State and someone who was likely privy to the contents of said emails.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/363746-podesta-clinton-wikileaks-emails\/\">READ MORE: &#8216;We are nervous about this&#8217;: Team Clinton weigh email server jokes in #Podesta15 release<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cTrust me, most of the email themselves are funnier than any joke we can come up with. I go back and forth,\u201d<\/em> said Reines.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBut I would not make a joke just for the sake of making a joke, because email retention = Benghazi,\u201d<\/em> he warned.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe can\u2019t jam State to release them at this point, but if Dan [Schwerin, Clinton\u2019s speech writer] can think of a light way to say \u201cI am proud of the work we did at State and hopefully at some point everyone will be able to read what\u2019s in them as a way to better understand that work\u2026\u201d<\/em> Reines suggested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HuffPo a clandestine mouthpiece for Democrats?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A social action group classified The Huffington Post as a means by which to surreptitiously peddle pro-Democrat messages back in 2008, according to a leaked email by strategist Susan McCue.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2008, McCue \u2013 president of Message Global, a self-described social action group \u2013 recounted a conversation she allegedly had with Arianna Huffington. The email was about a progressive media project and was sent to John Podesta, David Brock of Media Matters and Tom Mazzie of MoveOn.org.<\/p>\n<p>According to McCue, who was formerly chief of staff for Nevada Senator Harry Reid and once listed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/author\/susan-mccue\">GQ Magazine<\/a>\u00a0among the 50 most powerful people in Washington, Huffington was interested in allowing her publication to become a political mouthpiece.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI spoke w Arianna abt PMUSA Board [Progressive Media USA] and will send her more info.
