Bob Unruh It\u2019s no secret that President Obama and the U.S. Constitution have been at odds over the last eight years.<\/p>\n But while campaigning this week for Hillary Clinton, he let it slip that he, indeed, believes a president has the power to violate the Constitution.<\/p>\n He was in North Carolina, blasting Donald Trump for the 2005 video of the GOP candidate making remarks about women, reported Business Insider.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIf you disrespect women before you are elected president, you will disrespect women when you\u2019re in office,\u201d Obama said.<\/p>\n \u201cImagine what you\u2019ll do when you actually have the power to violate the Constitution along those lines.\u201d<\/p>\n Sign the precedent-setting petition supporting Trump\u2019s call for an independent prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton!<\/a><\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n The left-leaning Mediaite interpreted the remark as a \u201cwarning to people about the dangers of what Trump could do with actual presidential power.\u201d<\/p>\n Mediaite referenced a longer quote from Obama on the same subject: \u201cIf you disrespect the Constitution by threatening to shut down the press when it doesn\u2019t say things you like or threaten to throw your opponent in jail or discriminate against people of different faiths \u2013 if you do that before you are elected, when what are you gonna do when you have actual power to do those things?\u201d<\/p>\n It was an opening through which Hot Air blogger Larry O\u2019Connor could not resist jumping.<\/a><\/p>\n O\u2019Connor said it was \u201cso ripe with irony,\u201d it was tempting to \u201cleave his quote as it is, without any commentary, and let the reader add their own remarks.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s right: the president whose actions have been over-ruled by the Supreme Court of the United States more than any other modern president is accusing Donald Trump of \u2018disrespect(ing) the Constitution.’\u201d<\/p>\n For example, he cited Obama\u2019s claim that Trump would shut down the press, pointing out that \u201cthe Obama administration made a deliberate effort to exclude Fox News from a press pool during the height of its war with the network.\u201d<\/p>\n And what about the threat to throw opponents in jail?<\/p>\n Sixteen times Democrats tried to prosecute their opponents, O\u2019Connor noted.<\/p>\n And what about discriminating against people of different faiths?<\/p>\n O\u2019Connor cited two headlines: \u201cWikiLeaks Report: Obama Admin Discriminated Against Arab Christians for Top Jobs\u201d and \u201cU.S. \u2018discriminates\u2019 against Christian refugees, accepts 96% Muslims, 3% Christians.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, if we\u2019ve learned anything over the nearly eight years of the Obama administration, we\u2019ve learned that the president and his supporters are fanatical in their respect for the Constitution,\u201d O\u2019Connor wrote.<\/p>\n WND columnist Burt Prelutsky<\/a> wrote that Obama\u2019s \u201ccrimes and misdemeanors are too long to list, but it\u2019s worth noting that he has befriended our enemies and betrayed our allies; pushed the Affordable Care Act down our throats; paid Iran $150 billion while paving their path to a nuclear arsenal; handed Iraq and Afghanistan back to the bad guys; sided with the mob against the police; thrown open the gates to Gitmo; divided America along racial, religious and economic lines; nearly doubled our national debt; and left his dirty footprints all over the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n The late Phyllis Schlafly didn\u2019t overlook Obama\u2019s fight with the Constitution.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBarack Obama has now revealed that he unilaterally plans to use executive orders to \u2018bypass\u2019 Congress. His shocking words were: \u2018We are not just going to be waiting for legislation. \u2026 I\u2019ve got a pen and I\u2019ve got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions,\u2019 she wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope every American actually sees Obama speak those words on a TV or computer screen. His dictatorial attitude, layered with arrogance and condescension, should be repudiated by a self-governing people.<\/p>\n \u201cObama claims to have taught constitutional law, but he doesn\u2019t seem to be familiar with the Constitution\u2019s words.
