Comey just reopened the Hillary R. Clinton email investigation.<\/p>\n<p>What distinguishes this move as an undisputed <em><strong>October Surprise<\/strong><\/em> is that Comey took this extraordinary initiative just 10 days before the general election.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s absolutely no question that the Director could have waited, but he didn&#8217;t and for very good reason. \u00a0Comey&#8217;s own job, his career, his credibility and his future is on the line&#8212;BIG time.<\/p>\n<p>Congress has impressed upon James B. Case reopened<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jason Chaffetz (@jasoninthehouse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jasoninthehouse\/status\/792047597040971776?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 28, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Stocks fell after Comey\u2019s announcement, CNBC reported.<\/p>\n<p>Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-Virginia), chair of the House Judiciary Committee, praised the decision to reopen the case.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNow that the FBI has reopened the matter, it must conduct the investigation with impartiality and thoroughness,\u201d<\/em> he said in a <a href=\"http:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/press-release\/goodlatte-statement-fbis-decision-reopen-clinton-investigation\/\">statement.<\/a>\u00a0<em>\u201cThe American people deserve no less and no one should be above the law.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Almost 15,000 new Clinton emails were discovered in September, but it&#8217;s unclear if the announced investigation relates to them or other correspondence.\u00a0The newly discovered emails are not related to Wikileaks or the Clinton Foundation, law enforcement sources told CNN\u2019s Evan Perez.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jason Chaffetz 14,900 New Hillary Clinton Emails Found\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-3TiNLA9DzI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
