\n(<\/b>ANTIMEDIA<\/b><\/a>)<\/b>\u00a0During the third and last presidential debate between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton, debate moderator Chris Wallace pulled a quote from a speech<\/a> Clinton had given to Brazilian bankers, noting the information had been made available to the public via WikiLeaks.<\/p>\n

Instead of answering the question, Clinton blamed the Russian government for the leaks<\/a>, alleging \u201c[t]he Russian government has engaged in espionage against Americans<\/i>,\u201d hacking \u201cAmerican websites, American accounts of private people, of institutions \u2026 in an effort, as 17 of our intelligence agencies have confirmed, to influence our election<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the claim, Clinton criticized Trump for saying<\/a> \u201c[Clinton] has no idea whether it\u2019s Russia, China, or anybody else<\/i>,\u201d repeating her assertion that 17 U.S. intelligence agencies had determined the Russian government had been behind the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hack.<\/p>\n

Despite her claim, reality couldn\u2019t be more different.<\/p>\n

Instead of 17 agencies, only the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have offered the public<\/a> any input on this matter, claiming the DNC attacks \u201care consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Without offering any evidence, these two \u2014 not 17 \u2014 agencies hinted that the Kremlin could<\/i> be behind the cyber attack. But saying they believe<\/i> the hacks come from the Russians is far short of saying they know<\/i> the Russians were behind them.<\/p>\n

During an interview on Aaron Klein\u2019s Sunday radio program<\/a>, former high-ranking NSA intelligence official-turned-whistleblower, William Binney<\/a>, discussed the alleged Russian involvement in our elections, suggesting the cyber attack against the DNC may\u00a0not have originated from the Russian government. Instead, Binney says, a \u201cdisgruntled U.S. intelligence worker<\/i>\u201d is likely behind the breach.<\/p>\n
