According to the New York Times, the contractor, who worked for the same company as Edward Snowden, was arrested for stealing highly-classified ‘source codes’ developed by the NSA to hack foreign government systems.<\/h2>\n

According to\u00a0the Justice Department, 51-year-old Harold Thomas Martin, who was employed by\u00a0Booz Allen Hamilton\u00a0\u2014 the company responsible for\u00a0most of\u00a0the NSA’s most sensitive cyberoperations\u00a0\u2014 faces up\u00a0to 10 years in\u00a0prison for\u00a0theft of\u00a0government property and one year for\u00a0removing classified material. The materials he is believed to\u00a0have stolen are “critical to\u00a0national security”, Justice Department officials added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Among the classified documents\u2026were six classified documents obtained from\u00a0sensitive intelligence and produced by\u00a0a government agency in\u00a02014,” the release stated<\/a>. “These documents were produced through\u00a0sensitive government sources, methods and capabilities, which are critical to\u00a0a wide variety of\u00a0national security issues. The disclosure of\u00a0the documents would reveal those sensitive sources, methods, and capabilities.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
