The department was under pressure from both the White House and foreign governments to silence Wikileaks.<\/p>\n<p>True Pundit reports the people in the room with Clinton on November 23, 2010 laughed at her comment, until it became clear that the then-Secretary of State was serious. Clinton was reportedly fuming and referred to Assange as a <em>\u201csoft target.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hillary Clinton on Assange &quot;Can&#39;t we just drone this guy&quot;  &#8212; report <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/S7tPrl2QCZ\">https:\/\/t.co\/S7tPrl2QCZ<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qy2EQBa48y\">pic.twitter.com\/qy2EQBa48y<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wikileaks\/status\/782906224937410562?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 3, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>After Clinton\u2019s drone suggestion, the State Department considered offering a reward to anyone whose help secured the Australian journalist\u2019s capture and extradition to the U.S. Unnamed sources reported a $10 million price was discussed at the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Following the meeting, Clinton aide Ann-Marie Slaughter <a href=\"http:\/\/wikileaks.org\/clinton-emails\/emailid\/1109\">emailed<\/a> Clinton and aides Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin and Jake Sullivan with the subject,<em> &#8220;RE an SP memo on possible legal and nonlegal strategies re Wikileaks.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The email contained an attachment <em>&#8220;SP Wikileaks doc final11.23.10.docx.&#8221;<\/em> which has not been found by federal investigators investigating Clinton\u2019s use of a private email server. Clinton knew there was a role for DOD, State and the CIA but could not provide specifics as to what it was.
