It seems Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was right when he complained about audio<\/a> in the debate hall.<\/p>\n

The Commission on Presidential Debates released a vague statement on Friday simply saying<\/a>: \u201cRegarding the first debate, there were issues regarding Donald Trump\u2019s audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall.\u201d<\/p>\n

The commission didn\u2019t elaborate any further, but the statement did not indicate that there were any issues with the television feed.<\/p>\n

The day after Monday\u2019s debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., Trump said during a \u201cFox & Friends\u201d interview<\/a> that he had a \u201cbum mic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a problem with a microphone that didn\u2019t work,\u201d Trump said Tuesday. \u201cMy microphone was terrible. I wonder, was it set up that way on purpose? My microphone, in the room, they couldn\u2019t hear me. It was going on and off, which isn\u2019t exactly great. I wonder if it was set up that way. But it was terrible. When I tested it, it was beautiful. Like an hour before, I said, \u2018What a great mic,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Trump also said\u00a0that his rival, Democrat Hillary Clinton, didn\u2019t have the same issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was on and off,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd it was much lower than hers. I don\u2019t want to believe in conspiracy theories, of course, but it was much lower than hers. And it was crackling. And she didn\u2019t have that problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the debate, Trump could be heard loudly sniffling<\/a> \u2014 and commentary on his breathing dominated the social media conversation<\/a> about the event. But the sniffling sounds appear unrelated to the debate commission\u2019s statement, which admitted only to \u201cissues\u201d related to sound in the debate hall itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mic was very bad, but maybe it was good enough to hear breathing,\u201d Trump said Tuesday, insisting \u201cthere was no sniffles<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
