I finished it \u2013 you know what I mean. President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we want to get back to making America strong and great again. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Trump hinted at what he meant to CNBC\u2019s Maria Bartiromo, telling her his planned statement would once and for all lay the controversy behind the \u201cbirther\u201d rumors to rest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to be making a major statement on this whole thing and what Hillary did,\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2016\/09\/donald-trump-birtherism-campaign-statement-228261\" target=\"_blank\">Trump told Bartiromo<\/a>. \u201cBut no, she is the one that started it and she was unable or incapable of finishing it. That\u2019s the way it worked out. But I got him to release his birth certificate.
