Yesterday, I published a post warning readers about the increasingly dangerous situation on the ground in Syria, and detailed why a Hillary Clinton presidency will quickly usher\u00a0in World War 3. Here it is in case you missed it:\u00a0Is the Syrian War About to Experience a Major Escalation?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the always excellent Glenn Greenwald published a piece at the Intercept<\/em> which further proves the point. What follows\u00a0are a few disturbing excerpts from his article,\u00a0Hillary Clinton\u2019s Likely Pentagon Chief Already Advocating for More Bombing and Intervention<\/a>:<\/p>\n Michele Flournoy, the former Defense Department\u00a0official\u00a0whom\u00a0Defense One\u00a0calls<\/a>\u00a0\u201cthe woman expected to run the Pentagon under Hillary Clinton,\u201d this week advocated for \u201csending more American troops into combat against\u00a0ISIS<\/span>\u00a0and the Assad regime than the Obama administration has been willing to\u00a0commit.\u201d<\/strong> In an\u00a0interview with that outlet<\/a>,\u00a0Flournoy \u201csaid she would direct\u00a0U.S.<\/span>\u00a0troops to push President Bashar al-Assad\u2019s forces out of southern Syria and would send more American boots to fight the Islamic State in the region.\u201d She had previously \u201ccondemned the Obama administration\u2019s\u00a0ISIS<\/span>\u00a0policy as ineffectual,\u201d\u00a0denouncing\u00a0it<\/a>\u00a0as \u201cunder-resourced.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n This week, Flournoy specifically advocated\u00a0what she called \u201climited military coercion\u201d to oust Assad.<\/strong> In August 2014, Obama announced what he called \u201climited airstrikes in Iraq\u201d \u2014 and they\u2019re still\u00a0continuing almost two years later<\/a>. Also note the clinical euphemism\u00a0Flournoy created \u2014 \u201cmilitary coercion\u201d \u2014 for creating a \u201cno-bomb zone\u201d that would entail \u201ca declaratory policy backed up by the threat of force. \u2018If you bomb the folks we support, we will retaliate using standoff means to destroy [Russian] proxy forces, or, in this case, Syrian assets,\u2019\u201d she said. Despite D.C. conventional wisdom that Obama is guilty of \u201cinaction\u201d in Syria, he has\u00a0sent substantial aid, weapons, and training to Syrian rebels<\/a>\u00a0while\u00a0repeatedly bombing ISIS targets\u00a0in Syria<\/a>.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n No amount of war and destruction is never enough for these people.<\/p>\n Even U.S. military officials\u00a0have said<\/a>\u00a0that these sorts of no-fly or no-bomb guarantees Flournoy is promising \u2014 which Hillary Clinton herself has\u00a0previously advocated<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 would\u00a0risk a military confrontation with Russia<\/a>.<\/strong> Obama\u2019s defense secretary, Ash Carter,\u00a0told a Senate hearing last December<\/a>\u00a0that the policy Clinton advocates \u201cwould require \u2018substantial\u2019 ground forces and would put the U.S. military at risk of a direct confrontation with the Syrian regime and Russian forces.\u201d Nonetheless, the Pentagon official highly likely to be Clinton\u2019s defense secretary is clearly signaling their intention to proceed with escalated military action.<\/strong> The carnage in Syria is horrifying, but no rational person should think that U.S. military action will be designed to \u201chelp Syrians.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n But the fact that Hillary Clinton has a history of advocating more war and killing and support for heinous regimes and occupations is the one thing Democratic pundits have, with remarkable message discipline, completely ignored. From Bernie Bros to Sanders\u2019 Secret Service costs to Hillary\u2019s\u00a0kick-ass, mic-dropping<\/a>,\u00a0slay-queen tweets<\/a>, they\u2019ve invented the most embarrassingly childish and trivial distractions to ensure they don\u2019t have to talk about it. But now Clinton\u2019s almost-certain defense secretary is already \u2014 months before she\u2019s in power \u2014 expressly advocating more war and bombing and dangerous interventions. That makes the costs of a Clinton foreign policy \u2014 at least for those who assign any value to lives outside of American soil \u2014\u00a0much harder, and more shameful, to ignore.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n So are you ready?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"Screen](\"http:\/\/libertyblitzkrieg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Screen-Shot-2016-06-22-at-8.38.17-AM-1024x526.jpg\")
