{"id":48386,"date":"2016-09-09T16:56:24","date_gmt":"2016-09-09T20:56:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=48386"},"modified":"2016-09-09T16:56:24","modified_gmt":"2016-09-09T20:56:24","slug":"gop-rep-calls-clinton-mentally-impaired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=48386","title":{"rendered":"GOP rep calls Clinton &#8216;mentally impaired&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->By Jesse Byrnes<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/author\/jesse-byrnes\"><br \/>\n<\/a>THE HILL<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oTo5uznlDF4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Rep. <span class=\"rollover-people\" data-behavior=\"rolloverpeople\"><a class=\"rollover-people-link\" href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/louie-gohmert\" data-nid=\"187867\">Louie Gohmert<\/a><\/span> (R-Texas) on Friday referred to <span class=\"rollover-people\" data-behavior=\"rolloverpeople\"><a class=\"rollover-people-link\" href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/hillary-clinton\" data-nid=\"188224\">Hillary Clinton<\/a><\/span> as &#8220;mentally impaired.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cYou don&#8217;t make fun of people who are impaired, have special needs,&#8221;\u00a0Gohmert said during his speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;And whether you like her or not, Hillary Clinton has made clear she is mentally impaired. This is not somebody you should be making fun of,&#8221; Gohmert continued, to laughs from the crowd.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;I get the impression that in law school and along the way she&#8217;s been very, very smart. But I don&#8217;t know, maybe it was the concussion. &#8230; They won&#8217;t tell us what really is going on with her.&#8221;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>GOP presidential nominee <span class=\"rollover-people\" data-behavior=\"rolloverpeople\"><a class=\"rollover-people-link\" href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/donald-trump\" data-nid=\"261287\">Donald Trump<\/a><\/span>, who Gohmert is backing, has made an issue of Clinton&#8217;s health during the campaign, with aides\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/ballot-box\/291922-trump-spokeswoman-claims-clinton-has-rare-brain-disease\" target=\"_blank\">pushing claims<\/a>\u00a0that she has a brain disease and focusing on the concussion she suffered while serving as secretary of State in 2012.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Clinton&#8217;s campaign has pushed back vociferously against the attacks on her health,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/blog-briefing-room\/news\/291672-clinton-aide-trump-peddling-deranged-conspiracy-theories-over\" target=\"_blank\">slamming<\/a>\u00a0Trump for pushing &#8220;deranged conspiracy theories&#8221; and &#8220;parroting lies.&#8221;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>&#8220;We need to be praying for Hillary Clinton.
