Hillary Clinton lashed out at the new phenomena of Internet-driven, alternative media in 1998 when the Drudge Report introduced the world to Monica Lewinsky.<\/p>\n

She blamed a \u201cvast right-wing conspiracy\u201d for the scandal before evidence emerged that led to her husband\u2019s impeachment and his infamous explanation, \u201cIt depends on what the meaning of the word \u2018is\u2019 is.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a grudge she\u2019s apparently never been able to leave behind, as her campaign\u2019s fundraising email blast this week demonstrates.<\/p>\n

In the dispatch, Christina Reynolds, wrote: \u201cWe\u2019ve had a conservative media in this country for a while. I don\u2019t always like what they have to say, but I respect their role and their right to exist.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, that \u201cright to exist\u201d apparently doesn\u2019t include all conservative media.<\/p>\n

\u201cBreitbart is something different,\u201d Reynolds wrote. \u201cThey make Fox News look like a Democratic Party pamphlet. They\u2019re a different breed altogether \u2013 not just conservative but radical, bigoted, anti-Muslim, anti-Semitic conspiracy peddlers who never have been and never should be anywhere near the levers of power in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The email came immediately after GOP nominee Donald Trump named Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News and a former investment banker, to the post of chief executive of his campaign.<\/p>\n

The Daily Caller reported<\/a> Reynolds confirmed that one of the goals of Clinton\u2019s campaign is to \u201censure Breitbart is destroyed.\u201d<\/p>\n

A pioneer of Internet news in the 1990s, WND cofounder and CEO Joseph Farah recalled that Hillary Clinton has been at odds with the new media since the beginning.<\/p>\n

\u201cHillary Clinton has a long history of intimidation against the alternative media \u2013 which simply means those in the press she can\u2019t control,\u201d Farah said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a lot of experience with this going back more than 20 years,\u201d he explained. \u201cI was targeted by her as one of the founding fathers of the alternative media going back more than two decades. I was a victim of a politically motivated IRS audit back then. And I was the journalist who exposed the broad pattern of the Clinton administration\u2019s use of the IRS as its political attack dog.\u201d<\/p>\n

Farah said that what Hillary Clinton is doing now \u201cis just what the Clintons have always done \u2013 smear, attack, intimidate, bully, shakedown, punish \u2013 without any regard for the First Amendment and their constitutional limitations on power.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cGod forbid the American people give the Clintons another chance after what that wrought on liberty in the 1990s,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

NBC News described<\/a> the attack on Breitbart as \u201cClinton\u2019s \u2018Right-Wing Conspiracy\u2019 Comes Full Circle With Trump Shake Up.\u201d<\/p>\n

The network said the Clintons \u201chave long maintained that a \u2018vast right-wing conspiracy\u2019 is out to get them\u201d and believe \u201cconservative media outlets, and the donors and political operatives behind them, are responsible for creating what Bill Clinton called a \u2018cartoon\u2019 version of his wife: A corrupt, venal, bloodstained \u2013 and now sickly \u2013 strawman that bares (sic) little resemblance to reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hillary Clinton trotted out the \u201cconspiracy\u201d claims again only a few months ago, telling a New Hampshire audience it was alive and well although, \u201cAt this point it\u2019s probably not correct to say it\u2019s a conspiracy because it\u2019s out in the open,\u201d NBC reported.<\/p>\n
