US whistleblower Edward Snowden published a vaguely worded tweet on Wednesday that has aroused curiosity in the Twittersphere.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The post reads like\u00a0a cryptic rallying call, asking former colleagues of\u00a0the NSA contractor to\u00a0contact him, saying “It\u2019s time.”<\/p>\n

The tweet also quotes journalist Barton Gellman, who is currently writing about\u00a0Snowden\u2019s time working in\u00a0the intelligence community in\u00a0order to “tell it truthfully.”<\/p>\n

\nIn 2013, Snowden leaked a cache of\u00a0intelligence documents that unveiled the extent of\u00a0the National Security Agency\u2019s domestic spying apparatus. He currently lives in\u00a0exile in\u00a0Russia, and faces charges of\u00a0espionage and theft of\u00a0government property in\u00a0the US.<\/p>\n

Gellman isn’t the only one interested in\u00a0Snowden’s story. Hollywood director Oliver Stone has released a trailer for\u00a0his upcoming biopic<\/a> about\u00a0the whistleblower. The film should be released later this year.<\/p>\n
