Facebook has refused to remove a graphic image depicting a policeman having his throat slit, reports the\u00a0Daily Mail.<\/em><\/a><\/h2>\n

The picture, posted on \u201cBlack Panther Party of Mississippi,\u201d a Facebook page frequented by the Dallas shooter, Micah Xavier Johnson, was reported to the social network by a concerned user. But Facebook refused to take the image down.<\/p>\n

In a response to the user, Facebook said the picture did not violate their policies. \u201cWe reviewed the post you reported for promoting graphic violence and found it doesn\u2019t violate our Community Standards\u201d said the social network in their reply.<\/p>\n

Facebook does not have a blanket ban on violent images, as they are sometimes used in news reporting. However, its community standards<\/a> do prohibit images that are shared for \u201csadistic pleasure or to celebrate or glorify violence.\u201d<\/p>\n

This unquestionably captures the image that was posted to the Black Panther page, but the social network has yet to take action. At the time of writing, the image remains hosted on the platform.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a>, Dallas shooter and black supremacist Micah Xavier Johnson posted to the same Facebook page several times before his deadly attacks in Texas.<\/p>\n

\u2018Why do so many whites (not all) enjoy killing and participating in the death of innocent beings,\u2019 he wrote above a video of what appeared to be people participating in a whale-killing.<\/p>\n

In the disjointed July 2 post, Johnson expressed anger over lynchings of black people and \u2018our ancestors\u2019 being beaten, mutilated and killed.<\/p>\n

\u2018Then they all stand around and smile while their picture is taken with a hung, burned and brutalized black person,\u2019Johnson, 25, wrote.<\/p>\n

\u2018They even go to our homeland and shoot our endangered wildlife for sport.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Facebook has also allowed the creation of a fan page dedicated to Xavier Johnson<\/a> to be set up following the Dallas shootings. Set up yesterday, the page accumulated over 600 \u201clikes\u201d from users in just three hours. It now stands at over 1,350 \u201clikes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Facebook\u2019s unwillingness to suspend pages and users promoting black supremacy and anti-police violence bears a stark contrast to their willingness so suspend conservatives. In the wake of the Orlando shootings, the social network leaped to ban pages run by Islam critic Pamela Geller,<\/a> only restoring them after media pressure.<\/a> The social network also suspended the pages of two gun stores shortly after the Orlando attacks.<\/a><\/p>\n
