The man who led the \u201cLeave\u201d campaign that ended with last week\u2019s vote in Great Britain to exit the European Union took some time out during a victory lap in Brussels, Belgium, to explain just how that political revolution actually played out.<\/p>\n
And \u2014 not surprisingly \u2014 President Obama came out looking badly.<\/p>\n
Actually, it was a good deal worse than badly \u2014 and American voters thinking about the difference between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in the fall\u2019s election should be listening.
\n\u201cObama came to Britain and I think behaved disgracefully,\u201d United Kingdom Independence Party leader Nigel Farage told \u201cYour World With Neil Cavuto\u201d guest host Trish Regan on Monday. He was talking about Obama\u2019s April visit when the leader of the free world visited a traditional ally to actually threaten its voters if they chose the path to a free future.<\/p>\n
\u201cTelling us we\u2019d be at the back of the queue\u2026. Treating us \u2014 American\u2019s strongest, oldest ally \u2014 in the most extraordinary way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Russia President Vladimir Putin \u2014 a dictator in all but name \u2014 actually looked the more presidential of the two.
\n\u201cVladimir Putin behaved in a more statesmanlike manner than President Obama did in this referendum campaign,\u201d Farage said.<\/p>\n
\u201cStatesmanlike,\u201d in this case meant maintaining silence, something Barack Obama has found impossible since he called those Cambridge, Massachusetts, cops \u201cstupid\u201d for trying to stop a reported home burglary back in 2009. (It should be noted that there are those who believe Putin may benefit from \u201cBrexit\u201d as the vote has created instability in the European Union specifically and the Western alliance generally.)<\/p>\n

\nFarage is a rhetorical bomb-thrower, of course. Men who take on the establishment generally are.<\/p>\n
To an American ear, the themes he sounds are familiar: Getting control of an immigration problem that seems to be swamping the country, arranging better trade deals, and ensuring the country\u2019s sovereignty in an increasingly globalized world.<\/p>\n
Those are themes Donald Trump hits incessantly \u2014 while Hillary Clinton promises to continue Barack Obama\u2019s policies, and go even further when it comes to legalizing aliens already in the country illegally.<\/p>\n
Republicans can only hope the election in November is as satisfying as Thursday\u2019s referendum was for Farage and his United Kingdom Independence Party.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhatever problems you\u2019ve got in the USA, they are as nothing to what we\u2019ve had,\u201d Farage told Fox News\u2019 Regan.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd what we did last Thursday was we said, \u2018We want our country back, and we voted for it, and we\u2019ve got it back!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
And that\u2019s just what Hillary, Obama and the rest of the Democrat Party is afraid of.
