\n<\/strong>First off, no one we know has anything good to say about CEO Zuckerberg’s stewardship at Facebook. \u00a0Quite frankly, his obvious immaturity and total lack of leadership experience disqualified him from growing such a company in the first place. \u00a0His many reckless and uninformed decisions directly related to the Facebook social network platform have been disastrous. \u00a0How so? \u00a0Most people just don’t like Facebook … although many still use it as a necessary evil.<\/p>\n

Honestly, once the markets crash in 2016 or 2017 — and they will — social media usage on smartphones will take a big hit due to the high monthly cost. \u00a0Then, social network platforms like Facebook will collapse in a day and a night. \u00a0The younger computer-literate generations are already leaving in droves and they will NEVER come back.<\/p>\n

What’s the point? \u00a0The C.I.A. chose a cocky and very unlikable kid to manage the largest social media platform in the world because he was so easy to control. \u00a0Whatever his masters want him to do, he does unquestioningly. \u00a0They want him to make STUPID predictions like the one below, he does. \u00a0He really seems to care not about what anyone thinks of his utter nonsense.<\/p>\n

Facebook is predicting the end of the written word<\/h1>\n

Back when humans were first grappling with the impact of a new, global forum for communication, Clay Shirky, a prominent thinker in the digital sphere, made the persuasive argument that the internet made us more creative<\/a>\u2014even if only in a small way.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Facebook has arguably made us all writers, since it has become the medium of choice for millions to share their views and life experiences. But in five years that creativity may look very different. Facebook is predicting the end of the written word on its platform.<\/p>\n

In five years time Facebook \u201cwill be definitely mobile, it will be probably all video,\u201d said Nicola Mendelsohn, who heads up<\/a> Facebook\u2019s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, at a conference in London this morning. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook\u2019s CEO, has already noted<\/a> that video will be more and more important for the platform. But Mendelsohn went further, suggesting that stats showed the written word becoming all but obsolete, replaced by moving images and speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best way to tell stories in this world, where so much information is coming at us, actually is video,\u201d Mendelsohn said. \u201cIt conveys so much more information in a much quicker period. So actually the trend helps us to digest much more information.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the room, there was a perceptible shifting\u2014perhaps because the written word seems a rather major aspect of civilization to dispatch with so quickly. But it won\u2019t disappear entirely, Mendelsohn assured the crowd: \u201cYou\u2019ll have to write for the video.\u201d<\/p>\n

Facebook owns Instagram, one of the foremost online tools for sharing images. Asked about Snapchat, which focuses on sharing video, Mendelsohn said it was a very different business.<\/p>\n

Of course, Facebook has algorithmically promoted video<\/a>, so I asked Mendelsohn whether the company was pushing that shift away from text posts. She insisted the change is user-driven, an organic shift that was obvious by looking at the numbers.<\/p>\n

Virtual reality will grow and 360 video will be \u201ccommonplace,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re seeing a year-on-year decline of text\u2026If I was having a bet I\u2019d say: video, video, video.\u201d<\/p>\n
