closer to the structure, located at\u00a03655 Old Topanga Canyon Road. A team of firefighters was defending the preschool.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"20\">Initially, a few thousand Southern California Edison customers experienced power outages after the car slammed into the power pole, David Song of SoCal Edison said. By 7 p.m., fewer than 200 were experiencing outages. Song said power should be fully\u00a0restored by 3 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"21\">The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported that one firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the blaze.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"22\">The Los Angeles County Sheriff&#8217;s Department&#8217;s Lost Hills Station was in charge of evacuations. Residents were being evacuated to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Agoura+High+School\/@34.1509,-118.749332,15z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xf3c8cafd413adbec!8m2!3d34.1509!4d-118.749332\" target=\"_blank\">Agoura High School at\u00a028545 West Driver Avenue.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"23\">Anyone with large animals was asked to evacuate to\u00a0Los Angeles Pierce College at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Pierce+College\/@34.184746,-118.5761475,15z\/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x5a7ad31d445d4483?sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwj4vLeQ2Y_NAhVDImMKHZtRBvAQ_BIIjQEwEw\" target=\"_blank\">6201 Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"24\">The mandatory evacuations were\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/t-cep.org\/emergencystatus\/?offset=0#TactZoneMap\" target=\"_blank\">extended to the zones<\/a>\u00a0in Old Topanga Canyon area until 8 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"25\">Residents in the Calabasas area would be allowed to return home by 2 a.m., but power may still be out, LA County Fire officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"26\">The large fire came as NBC4 Meteorologist Shanna Mendiola warned of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/weather\/stories\/Southern-California-Current-Forecast-Weather-320116271.html\">excessive heat warnings across SoCal<\/a>, along with dry winds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"27\">A second fire began burning at 4:20 p.m. in the West Hills area, the same time as the Old Fire. Light wind was fueling the two-acre blaze, pushing it downhill into a ravine at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Valley+Cir+Blvd+%26+Kittridge+St,+West+Hills,+CA+91307\/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x80c29d935d65260f:0x740a66d79a6b147?sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjwpJaNyI_NAhVL9WMKHRbeAx8Q8gEIHDAA\" target=\"_blank\">Kittridge Street and Valley Circle<\/a>, according to LA County Fire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"28\">The blaze was about five miles north of the Calabasas blaze, and was extinguished by 6:40 p.m., with no injuries or homes burned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"29\">Earlier in the morning, a brush fire in Temecula\u00a0put drivers on high alert as it scorched 70 acres, forcing a closure of lanes on the southbound 15 Freeway. By the evening, and it was 20 percent contained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"30\">Another smaller blaze was reported in the Santa Clarita area amid rising temperatures, burning one-eighth of an acre near <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/McBean+Pkwy+%26+Decoro+Dr,+Santa+Clarita,+CA+91354\/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x80c27d8b83ca481f:0x1e35f5112ac5582f?sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjAk86fyI_NAhVI_WMKHda7BscQ8gEIHDAA\" target=\"_blank\">Decoro Drive and McBean Parkway.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"31\">The Los Angeles County Fire Department compiled tips for what do if confronted with a fire. Experts advise to\u00a0not stop to gather your belongings \u2014 just get out of the house if mandatory evacuations are ordered. &#8220;Call the Fire Department from a neighbor\u2019s telephone after you are out of the house,&#8221; a tip sheet read.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" data-pnum=\"32\">Calabasas is a city of about 24,000 residents in the hills west of the San Fernando Valley and northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
