<\/a><\/p>\nFacebook and Twitter are \u2018Internet ghettos\u2019 designed to eradicate the open range of independent thought that was once the Internet, according to media pioneer Matt Drudge.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know why they\u2019ve been successful in pushing everybody into these little ghettos, these Facebooks, these Tweets, these Instagrams,\u201d Drudge said on The Alex Jones Show. \u201cThis is ghetto, this is corporate; they\u2019re taking your energy and you\u2019re getting nothing in return.\u201d<\/p>\n While the Internet started out as a renaissance-style free range of ideas, establishment interests have since corralled Internet users into a handful of social media sites where dangerous groupthink can blossom in favor of the status quo, he pointed out.<\/p>\n \u201cThis whole social media stuff is bogus,\u201d Drudge added. \u201cFacebook has two billion users? This is garbage, this is designed to demoralize the individual.\u201d<\/p>\n He makes an excellent point. It\u2019s already well known that Facebook in particular is censoring news articles critical of government policies, so conservative and libertarian activists who predominantly use Facebook are easily silenced by the establishment.<\/p>\n In fact, a recent study revealed that the most successful individuals operate in large, open networks where they\u2019re the link between people of different backgrounds.<\/p>\n Facebook, on the other hand, confines you to a small, closed network in which you\u2019re only connected to \u201cFacebook friends\u201d who likely share your same views and already know you.<\/p>\n In other words, your potential reach on Facebook is less than the Internet as a whole, and the establishment wants this because in a closed network you\u2019re also more likely to repeatedly hear the same government talking points and accept them without thought.<\/p>\n It\u2019s easier for the power elite to control a population divided into isolated groups where independent thinking has been restrained.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026I\u2019m just warning this country: don\u2019t get into this false sense that you are an individual when you\u2019re on Facebook,\u201d Drudge stated. \u201cNo you\u2019re not; you\u2019re a pawn in their scheme.\u201d<\/p>\n
