It\u2019s good that a lawsuit by 11 states is challenging President Obama\u2019s transgender mandate, or what a viral video describes as bathroom on the brain, according to the makers of the video at the Family Research Council.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe commend Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and these 10 other states for resisting the president\u2019s locker room and bathroom decree that sacrifices the privacy and safety of children,\u201d said FRC chief Tony Perkins.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn President Obama\u2019s final drive to fundamentally transform America, he has pushed aside the concerns of parents and schools, the privacy and safety of students, and ignored the boundaries of his constitutional power.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fox News reported Wednesday afternoon<\/a> that the states filed a lawsuit against the Obama administration over the presidents demand that U.S. public schools \u201clet transgender students use the bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender identity.\u201d<\/p>\n It explains, \u201cDefendants have conspired to turn workplaces and educational settings across the country into laboratories for a massive social experiment, flouting the democratic process, and running roughshod over commonsense policies protecting children and basic privacy rights.\u201d<\/p>\n Participating in the lawsuits, in addition to lead plaintiff Texas, are Alabama, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tennessee, Arizona\u2019s Department of Education, Maine Gov. Paul LePage, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah and Georgia.<\/p>\n Texas Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed the action even before the state\u2019s attorney general held a news conference to talk about it.<\/p>\n Conservatives across the nation had simply said Obama was threatening the safety of students, and trying to blackmail states with his threat to withhold federal funding for schools.<\/p>\n \u201cThis lawsuit is challenging the way that the Obama administration is trampling the United States Constitution,\u201d Abbott said.<\/p>\n The administration directed the U.S. Justice and Education departments to escalate Obama\u2019s obsession with sexual alternatives and promoting them.<\/p>\n While White House officials describe the issue as a civil rights fight, others say that simply mischaracterizes the dispute entirely.<\/p>\n They point out that Obama\u2019s mandate sacrifices the privacy of hundreds of millions for the lifestyle choice and preference of a few.<\/p>\n WND reported earlier how Washington is trying to make those alternatives mainstream.<\/a><\/p>\n The fight began long before and reached a high point in 2015 when the U.S. Supreme Court departed from millennia of precedent and the Judeo-Christian foundation of Western civilization to create \u201csame-sex marriage,\u201d a ruling condemned by a four-justice minority as unconnected to the Constitution.<\/p>\n But that wasn\u2019t the end, as the following headlines attest:<\/p>\n The special Whistleblower edition \u201cTrans-Mania\u201d exposes the left\u2019s \u201clatest \u2013 and strangest \u2013 war on reality and normality.\u201d<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n The federal government launched its latest assault after North Carolina lawmakers adopted a law in March requiring people to use gender-designated public facilities that correspond to the gender listed on their birth certificate. The aim was to protect women and children from being confronted by a naked man.<\/p>\n But the U.S. Department of Justice then threatened the state with financial penalties<\/a>, claiming the law violates the 1964 Civil Rights Act.<\/p>\n That argument presumes Congress, in 1964, wanted men to be allowed to use women\u2019s restrooms and locker rooms and vice versa, which is ridiculous, contends Kellie Fiedorek, a legal counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom,<\/a> which specializes in civil and religious rights.<\/p>\n \u201cNorth Carolina\u2019s bathroom privacy law, HB2, fully complies with federal law,\u201d Fiedorek said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s absurd to assert, as the Department of Justice does, that by placing the word \u2018sex\u2019 in federal nondiscrimination laws, Congress intended to force states to open their restrooms to people of the opposite biological sex,\u201d Fiedorek continued. \u201cGov. McCrory and the state of North Carolina are fulfilling their duty to protect the privacy rights of their citizens.<\/p>\n On the new lawsuit, Perkins continued, \u201cIf the White House can dictate the policies for every school locker room, shower, and bathroom in America, what could possibly be beyond its reach?<\/p>\n \u201cWe are also encouraged by the scores of state leaders who are standing up to the Obama administration\u2019s unilateral redefinition of federal law. It is now time for Republicans in Congress, who have the constitutional authority as a coequal branch of government, to support these state leaders and bring the imperial White House under control.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
