It makes them happy hearing it . . . My main job is to keep my job.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2016\/05\/13\/were-running-a-f-ing-casino-politician-tells-all-in-manifesto\/\">As NYPost.com reports,<\/a> the book, published by the small Mill City Press, is based on years of transcribed private discussions, which the congressman last November gave editor Robert Atkinson. Atkinson declined to say whether Congressman X &#8211; a Democrat &#8211; is a current or former House member.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p>The title of one chapter sums up his view of congressional leaders: \u201cHarry Reid\u2019s a Pompous Ass,\u201d he says of the Senate Democratic leader.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe spend money we don\u2019t have and blithely mortgage the future with a wink and a nod. Screw the next generation. <strong>It\u2019s about getting credit now, lookin\u2019 good for the upcoming election<\/strong>,\u201d he says.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He said he and his colleagues often lie to try to be all things to all people instead of tackling the nation\u2019s problems.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>\u201cI contradict myself all the time, but few people notice,\u201d<\/strong> X says. \u201cOne minute I rail against excessive spending and ballooning debt. The next minute I\u2019m demanding more spending on education, health care, unemployment benefits, conservation projects, yadda, yadda, yadda.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Voters are described as gullible, know-nothing jerks, while the only people who count are the big donors who pour billions of dollars into lobbying.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>\u201cVoters are incredibly ignorant.<\/strong> It\u2019s far easier than you think to manipulate a nation of naive, self-absorbed sheep who crave instant gratification .\u2009.\u2009.,\u201d vents Congressman X.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>He says money \u201ccorrupts\u201d and House members are \u201cpuppets\u201d to lobbyists who bankroll their campaigns.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>\u201cBusiness organizations and unions fork over more than $3 billion a year to those who lobby the federal government. Does that tell you something? We\u2019re operating a f\u2013king casino,\u201d <\/strong><\/u>he says.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He describes himself as a \u201ccloset moderate\u201d who supports charter schools and tax vouchers to allow poor kids to go to private schools.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But students take a back seat to partisan politics&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"quote_start\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"quote_end\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cOur education\u2019s in the toilet, and all we do is snipe at each other,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Congress is too polarized and partisan to get anything done, by the congressman\u2019s account.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere seems to be a complete disintegration of confidence in government. A fear that government is its own special interest,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><u><strong>\u201cAmerica\u2019s on an irreversible decline and no one in Washington seems to care . . . God help us.\u201d<\/strong><\/u><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>X says the cloak of anonymity gave him the freedom to expose \u00adsecrets, including how the public\u2019s money is wasted. <em><strong>New York sources speculated it\u2019s Rep.
