{"id":35595,"date":"2016-04-11T19:31:19","date_gmt":"2016-04-11T23:31:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=35595"},"modified":"2016-04-18T06:22:34","modified_gmt":"2016-04-18T10:22:34","slug":"is-it-just-me-or-are-our-leaders-insane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=35595","title":{"rendered":"Is It Just Me Or Are Our Leaders Insane?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->Novato, CA<br \/>\nApril 11, 2016<\/p>\n<p>by Rich Scheck<\/p>\n<p>The US joins other world leaders in Hiroshima to decry the use of nuclear weapons<br \/>\nand pay homage to the 140,000 who were killed in 1945 when we dropped an atomic<br \/>\nbomb on the city at the end of WWII.<\/p>\n<p>Sounds good, doesn&#8217;t it? Like President Obama giving a great speech<br \/>\non the same subject in 2009 and getting a Nobel Peace Prize for his<br \/>\napparent interest in ridding the world of such lethal weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, he and Congress have authorized the expenditure of $968 Billion to<br \/>\nfacilitate the &#8220;modernization&#8221; of our nuclear weapons in the years ahead.<\/p>\n<p>You read that right: almost one trillion will be spent by our government<br \/>\nalone to update our arsenal while participating in these events to decry<br \/>\nNorth Korea and other nations from pursuing their programs.<\/p>\n<p>Does the word hypocrisy resonate with you?
