And according to reports, Jonathan Vargas is broke.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Evelyn Adams<\/h3>\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s true \u2013 Evelyn Adams got lucky twice\u2026 winning the Lotto in 1985 and 1986.<\/p>\n<p>But predictably, her story didn\u2019t have a happy ending\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinning the lottery isn\u2019t always what it\u2019s cracked up to be\u2026 I won the American dream, but I lost it, too. He got shot with a .38 Smith and Wesson by acquaintance Dorice Donegan Moore.<\/p>\n<p>According to allegations, Moore became Shakespeare\u2019s financial advisor\u2026<\/p>\n<p>She eventually controlled every asset he had left. This included an expensive home, the debt owed to him and a $1.5 million annuity.<\/p>\n<p>Winning the big one is a surefire way to a financial ruin\u2026 even a brutal death.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Abraham-Lee-Shakespeare.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-137 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Abraham-Lee-Shakespeare.png\" alt=\"Abraham Lee Shakespeare\" width=\"489\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Janite Lee<\/h3>\n<p>This 52-year-old South Korean immigrant gave away much of his winning to charity.<\/p>\n<p>His $18 million winnings lasted just eight years.<\/p>\n<p>Lee filed for bankruptcy with only $700 left in the bank.<\/p>\n<p>Winning such a large amount created a slew of new friends\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Lee donated hundreds of thousands to political campaigns. He just finished serving 28 days in prison.<\/p>\n<p>To afford lottery ticket, Post sold a ring for $40 and purchased 40 lotto tickets.<\/p>\n<p>Two weeks after winning, Post went on a spending spree\u2026 spending more than $300,000 on buying a restaurant, a used-car lot and an airplane.<\/p>\n<p>William \u201cBud\u201d Post died 18 years after his big win. He admitted he was both careless and foolish, trying to please his family.<\/p>\n<p>He eventually declared bankruptcy and died over a million dollars in debt.<\/p>\n<p>He allegedly remarked that \u201cI was much happier when I was broke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/William-Bud-Post.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-139 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/William-Bud-Post.png\" alt=\"William Bud Post\" width=\"437\" height=\"339\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>\u201cLucky\u201d Lou Eisenberg<\/h3>\n<p>At the time, \u201cLucky\u201d Lou hit the biggest lottery payout of all time \u2013 $5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Hitting big does make one famous. Eisenberg sat on Johnny Carson\u2019s couch, snapped photos with Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr., Regis Philbin and Oprah Winfrey.<\/p>\n<p>But Lucky Lou lost his lucky ways and wound up broke gambling and doling out much of the rest of the dough to his now three ex-wives.<\/p>\n<p>After losing it all, he survives on $250 a week from Social Security and pension checks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Lucky-Lou-Eisenberg.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-140 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Lucky-Lou-Eisenberg.png\" alt=\"Lucky Lou Eisenberg\" width=\"665\" height=\"556\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Curtis Sharp<\/h3>\n<p>Wealth and fame came instantly for Curtis Sharp.<\/p>\n<p>Sharp\u2019s 15 minutes of fame included hanging out with Andy Warhol and bringing Yankee games to a standstill when players and fans noticed him in the stands.<\/p>\n<p>But Sharp blew most of his cash on booze, babes and bad investments. He invested in electric-powered cars that never needed recharging.<\/p>\n<p>Curtis took the same road most rags-to-riches lottery winners take. He bought a Cadillac, a \u201csmall mansion\u201d and a \u201clavish wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was living it up, traveling everywhere, buying watches, rings, clothes,\u201d Sharp said.<\/p>\n<p>Bad business deals landed him in worse trouble. Sharp learned that a tax shelter he invested in was bogus when the IRS seized his lottery checks.<\/p>\n<p>Sharp is now a Baptist minister living off his pension and Social Security checks in a small house in Antioch, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Curtis-Sharp.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-141 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.truthin7minutes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Curtis-Sharp.png\" alt=\"Curtis Sharp\" width=\"285\" height=\"443\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Michael Carroll<\/h3>\n<p>National Lottery winner (and former garbage man) soon became Briton\u2019s most-hated man.<\/p>\n<p>He plowed through his \u00a39.7 winnings at record speed.<\/p>\n<p>He bought gaudy mansion, endless supplies of crack and the hiring of thousands of prostitutes.<\/p>\n<p>Angry at his life of excess, his wife left him and took their baby daughter with her.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll has a many sobering quotes attributed to him:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe party has ended, and it\u2019s back to reality. I haven\u2019t got two pennies to rub together and that\u2019s the way I like it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe dealer who introduced me to crack has more of my lotto money than I do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just glad it\u2019s over. There were also vultures everywhere after my cash.
