Before taking a step back on Wednesday from any more attacks on Bill Clinton’s sexual past, Donald Trump said he’d like to hear someone ask the former president the difference between him and Bill Cosby, who was charged last week with sexual assault in a 2004 case.<\/p>\n
Trump was asked Monday on “The Howie Carr Show” if he saw similarities between Cosby, who has been accused of rape by dozens of women, and Clinton, who’s sexual past also has been scrutinized, reported Greg Richter of Newsmax.com.<\/p>\n
“Well, the whole Cosby thing is a weird deal and he\u2019s got himself some big problems,” Trump said, “And you’d almost have to ask Bill Clinton that question. It would be a very interesting question to someday ask him.”<\/p>\n
Clinton himself “has a lot of strong charges against him, and it’s pretty bad stuff,” Trump said.<\/p>\n
In an interview aired Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Trump appeared to signal a truce after host Joe Scarborough said it appeared the Clintons had already backed down on the sexism issue the day before.<\/p>\n
“When they attack me I\u2019m going to attack them,” said Trump. “Now if they don\u2019t, I would leave it off the table.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scarborough replied, \u201cYou\u2019re saying today, you\u2019re only going to bring up Bill Clinton\u2019s past history as a possible sexual harasser if she accuses you of being sexist?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSure. That\u2019s what it\u2019s all about,” answered Trump.<\/p>\n
Richter reported that Trump had been talking about Clinton’s past ever since his wife, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, accused Trump of having a “penchant for sexism.” Bill Clinton is currently campaigning for his wife in early voting states.<\/p>\n
“I respect women so much, and I’ll protect women, and I’ll protect them and I’ll protect the whole country, Trump told Carr.<\/p>\n
Carr told Trump he remembers a headline in the New York Post where Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples described their relationship as “the best sex I ever had.”

\n“The headline I remember about [Bill Clinton] in the New York tabs was, ‘You better put some ice on it,'” Carr said, a reference to Juanita Broaddrick’s allegation Clinton raped her in 1978.<\/p>\n
“Oh wow. That’s amazing,” Trump said.<\/p>\n
