A new ‘Gold Rush’<\/em>\u00a0may soon sweep across the great state of California. \u00a0Only, instead of gold, it will be water that\u00a0prospectors will be looking for. \u00a0This New Age<\/em> gold rush concerns the search for and tapping into subsurface reservoirs of what is known as “primary water”. \u00a0Just how much primary water exists is explained in the following excerpt from a Scientific American article that first appeared in Live Science.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A recent study documented the presence of vast quantities of water locked far beneath the earth\u2019s surface. That study confirmed “that there is a very, very large amount of water that’s trapped in a really distinct layer in the deep Earth\u2026 approaching the sort of mass of water that’s present in all the world’s oceans”[1]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Primary water (PW) is the original water<\/span> that emerges from deep within the Earth. \u00a0The mantle provides the ideal conditions for the synthesis of hydrogen and oxygen into the form of water vapor. \u00a0The vapor is then forced upward through the many cracks and fissures in the Earth’s crust. \u00a0The magma, both within the mantle and the crust, plays a big part in this “water-manufacturing process”. \u00a0That’s why there are often pockets of primary water found near active volcanoes and earthquake zones (See reference below).<\/p>\n

Because of the natural process that generates it, primary water does not have the many impurities and pollutants which are found in groundwater. \u00a0In fact, virtually all the water that is found within the water table has various contaminants from both human activity and natural events. \u00a0Primary water can be identified by its unusual purity, as well as from the distinct lack of various chemical and biological markers, which predictably show up in surface water.<\/p>\n

This unique quality of primary water distinguishes it as a particularly clean and valuable natural resource. \u00a0Because of its prevalence, it can be extracted via a specially designed and engineered technology. Furthermore, the provident practice of ongoing primary water capture and storage can be implemented in preparation for future droughts. \u00a0Many of the traditional sources of California water can then be allowed to regenerate. \u00a0A whole new infrastructure can also be constructed around the new paradigm of primary water drilling.<\/p>\n

Perhaps someone can send this article to Governor Jerry Brown. \u00a0His Administration appears to need some serious consultation on this matter. \u00a0This drought has gone on way too long without an effective government response.<\/p>\n
