In a radio interview broadcast Sunday, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio affirmed he is \u201cpretty well convinced\u201d President Obama\u2019s birth certificate, as released by the White House in 2011, is a \u201cfraudulent, fake document.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been in law enforcement 55 years,\u201d stated Arpaio. \u201cI think I know a fraudulent, fake document. I\u2019m not a computer expert. I rely on my people. But I\u2019m pretty well convinced it\u2019s a fake document.\u201d<\/p>\n
The famous sheriff was being interviewed for \u201cAaron Klein Investigative Radio,\u201d<\/a> broadcast on New York\u2019s AM 970 The Answer and Philadelphia\u2019s NewsTalk 990 AM.<\/p>\n The subject of the interview was Arpaio\u2019s reaction to the controversy surrounding statements about Mexican immigrants made by presidential candidate Donald Trump.<\/p>\n During the interview, Arpaio brought up the birth certificate.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought we have freedom of speech in this country,\u201d stated Arpaio when asked about the decision by Univision, NBC and Macy\u2019s to cut business ties with Trump and reports the city of New York is reviewing its contracts with the billionaire\u2019s businesses.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd he\u2019s running for president. He has a right to voice his opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n Arpaio added that Trump \u201cdid talk about the birth certificate in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou know I\u2019ve been working on that. So I don\u2019t know. I guess you got to be politically correct when you run for office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Trump and Arpaio both have claimed Obama\u2019s birth certificate may be forged. Arpaio\u2019s office has been investigating the birth certificate since 2011.<\/p>\n Arpaio\u2019s statements prompted Klein to ask for an update on his team\u2019s investigation into the long-form birth certificate document, posted April 27, 2011 as a PDF file on the White House website.<\/p>\n Arpaio told Klein that \u201conce again nobody wants to look at it right now.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo it\u2019s not my problem. I did my job.\u201d<\/p>\n Obama\u2019s qualification for president as a \u201cnatural born citizen\u201d has been challenged in court since before he was first elected in 2008. The White House finally relented in 2011 and posted a birth certificate, but Arpaio\u2019s investigative team concluded it is a forgery<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arpaio\u2019s appointed lead investigator on the birth-certificate case, Mike Zullo, has been promising the release of \u201cuniverse-shattering\u201d information regarding the document.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWhen this information is finally exposed to the public, it will be universe-shattering.
