Trump disses Pence aide Jennifer Williams after impeachment testimony<\/h1>\n

President Trump attacked Mike Pence\u2019s top national security aide on Sunday after she told impeachment investigators she\u00a0felt Trump\u2019s efforts to pressure Ukraine were \u201cinappropriate.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

In an afternoon Twitter missive, the president attacked Jennifer Williams as a \u201cNever Trumper\u201d and told her to read both transcripts of his calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n

\u201cTell Jennifer Williams, whoever that is, to read BOTH transcripts of the presidential calls, & see the just released ststement [sic] from Ukraine. Then she should meet with the other Never Trumpers, who I don\u2019t know & mostly never even heard of, & work out a better presidential attack!\u201d\u00a0he wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Williams is a longtime State Department employee who serves as Vice President Mike Pence\u2019s special adviser for Europe in Russia and listened to the call between Trump and Zelensky\u00a0on July 25<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the House Intelligence Committee released the transcript of her closed-door testimony, in which she told investigators that the Trump-Zelensky call\u00a0seemed \u201cunusual and inappropriate.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Williams testified that she found the call \u201cto be more political in nature\u201d and \u201cmore political than diplomatic.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also said she found the conversation \u201cmore specific to the president in nature, to his personal agenda \u2026 as opposed to a broad foreign policy objective of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams is expected to testify publicly next week as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Trump\u2019s dealings with Ukraine.<\/p>\n
