President Trump has continued to his attacks on the Democrats’ “impeachment resolution” proceedings, and in particular the so-called ‘whistleblower’ and the irrelevance of his (or her) thoughts and feelings…<\/p>\n

And, interestingly, this follows a statement from the attorneys representing the whistleblower acknowledging that their client \u201chas come into contact with presidential candidates from both parties.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is the full\u00a0statement<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

In light of the ongoing efforts to mischaracterize whistleblower #1\u2019s alleged \u201cbias\u201d in order to detract from the substance of the complaint, we will attempt to clarify some facts.<\/p>\n

First<\/strong>, our client has never worked for or advised a political candidate, campaign, or party.<\/p>\n

Second<\/strong>, our client has spent their entire government career in apolitical, civil servant positions in the Executive Branch.<\/p>\n

Third<\/strong>, in these positions our client has come into contact with presidential candidates from both parties in their roles as elected officials \u2013 not as candidates.<\/p>\n

Fourth<\/strong>, the whistleblower voluntarily provided relevant career information to the ICIG in order to facilitate an assessment of the credibility of the complaint.<\/p>\n

Fifth<\/strong>, as a result, the ICIG concluded \u2013 as is well known \u2013 that the complaint was both urgent and credible.<\/p>\n

Finally<\/strong>, the whistleblower is not the story.<\/p>\n

To date, virtually every substantive allegation has been confirmed by other sources. For that reason the identity of the whistleblower is irrelevant.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Except the motivations of the whistleblower are relevant, as Dan Bongino noted on Fox this morning:<\/p>\n
