Netanyahu called the plan a <em>\u201chistoric opportunity\u201d<\/em> to negotiate the future of the region with Trump.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"read-more-big\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/468509-israel-jordan-valley-galloway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"read-more-big__container\"><span class=\"read-more-big__content\"><span class=\"read-more-big__subtitle\">ALSO ON RT.COM<\/span><span class=\"read-more-big__title\">Israeli annexation of Jordan Valley would be the \u2018death of the two state solution\u2019 \u2013 George Galloway<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>Though he did not address the matter directly, some observers took Netanyahu\u2019s bold pronouncement as evidence that the annexation had been coordinated with Trump. The speech was <em>\u201ca clear play by Likud for right-wing votes,\u201d<\/em> wrote Israeli journalist Neri Zilber.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s a meaningless policy\/diversion tactic to wrest control of the agenda and take votes away from other right-wing parties,\u201d<\/em> Haaretz journalist Anshel Pfeffer commented.<em> \u201cHe hasn\u2019t got an annexation policy.
