Beijing Says It’s Still Not Aware Of Calls Cited By Trump<\/h1>\n

In what will likely be remembered as one of his more desperate and transparent bids to start a fire under the market, President Trump tweeted early Monday morning that his team had received multiple calls from Beijing about the prospects for restarting trade talks. However, China swiftly denied this, and insisted that it had no knowledge of any calls going out to the Trump Administration.<\/p>\n

And on Tuesday,\u00a0more than 24 hours after the supposed ‘olive branch’ was offered, China’s Foreign Minister clarified that it it still isn’t aware of any calls\u00a0<\/strong>to President Trump’s camp,\u00a0like the one the president described in his tweet.<\/a><\/p>\n

A spokesman for the foreign ministry also complained about the US’s ‘regretful’ decision to move ahead with raising tariffs again.<\/p>\n
