There\u2019s \u2018no way\u2019 Jeffrey Epstein killed himself, a former NYC jail inmate says<\/h1>\n

The following account is from a former inmate of the Metropolitan Correction Center in lower Manhattan, where Jeffrey Epstein was\u00a0found unresponsive Saturday, and declared dead<\/a>\u00a0at a hospital of an apparent suicide. The ex-convict, who spoke to The Post\u2019s\u00a0Brad Hamilton\u00a0and\u00a0Bruce Golding\u00a0on the condition of anonymity, spent several months in the 9 South special housing unit for high-profile prisoners awaiting trial \u2014 like Epstein.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There\u2019s no way that man could have killed himself. I\u2019ve done too much time in those units. It\u2019s an impossibility.<\/p>\n

Between the floor and the ceiling is like eight or nine feet. There\u2019s no way for you to connect to anything.<\/p>\n

You have sheets, but they\u2019re paper level, not strong enough. He was 200 pounds \u2014 it would never happen.<\/p>\n

When you\u2019re on suicide watch, they put you in this white smock, a straight jacket. They know a person cannot be injurious to themselves.<\/p>\n

The clothing they give you is a jump-in uniform. Everything is a dark brown color.<\/p>\n

Could he have done it from the bed? No sir. There\u2019s a steel frame, but you can\u2019t move it. There\u2019s no light fixture. There\u2019s no bars.<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t give you enough in there that could successfully create an instrument of death. You want to write a letter, they give you rubber pens and maybe once a week a piece of paper.<\/p>\n

Nothing hard or made of metal.<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s a cop at the door about every nine minutes, whether you\u2019re on suicide watch or not.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s up to 80 people there. They could put two in cell. It\u2019s one or two, but I\u2019ll never believe this guy had a cellmate. He was too blown up.<\/p>\n

The damage that unit can do to someone.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s like you\u2019re an animal and you\u2019ve been brought into a kennel. A guy like Jeffrey, it\u2019s like, \u201cHoly sh-t.\u201d<\/p>\n

I told my parents not to come there. God wasn\u2019t in the building.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve had some heavy incidents in the building. What happened is permanent.<\/p>\n

Some of the guards are on a major power trip. They know guys there are suffering. They know something the rest of the world hasn\u2019t seen, that a place like this exists in this country, and they get off on it.<\/p>\n

If the guards see that the guy is breaking, they\u2019re going to help you break.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s my firm belief that Jeffrey Epstein did not commit suicide. It just didn\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n
