Moreover, Strzok says that the DOJ&#8217;s decision to transmit\u00a0the incendiary messages to reporters before Congress had a chance to see them was &#8220;deliberate and unlawful,&#8221; and a violation of the Privacy Act.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"doc_34309\" class=\"scribd_iframe_embed\" title=\"Strzok lawsuit\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/420971286\/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode=scroll&amp;access_key=key-BmvYMVRr9w6mOV1uDvRW&amp;show_recommendations=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" data-aspect-ratio=\"0.7729220222793488\" data-auto-height=\"false\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Strzok&#8217;s anti-Trump sentiment\u00a0came to light after an internal investigation revealed he and Page had exchanged approximately 50,000 text messages &#8211;\u00a0many of which contained\u00a0<strong>obvious animus towards then-candidate Donald Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n<aside id=\"in-content-dianomi\" class=\"placement placement-embedded placement-dianomi\"><\/aside>\n<blockquote><p>Strzok\u2019s position in the bureau had been precarious since last summer, when Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz told Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III that the lead agent on his team had been exchanging anti-Trump messages with an FBI lawyer. The next day, Mueller expelled Strzok from the group.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer, Lisa Page, had also been a part of Mueller\u2019s team, though she left a few weeks earlier and no longer works for the FBI. She and Strzok were having an affair.\u00a0&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/fbi-agent-peter-strzok-fired-over-anti-trump-texts\/2018\/08\/13\/be98f84c-8e8b-11e8-b769-e3fff17f0689_story.html?utm_term=.42cf63e71c5f\"><em>Washington Post<\/em><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perhaps the most alarming of the exchanges mentions an &#8220;insurance policy&#8221; in the event Trump is elected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy&#8217;s office &#8211; that there&#8217;s no way he\u00a0<\/strong>[Trump]\u00a0<strong>gets elected &#8211;\u00a0but I&#8217;m afraid we can&#8217;t take that risk.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>Strzok wrote to Page, adding &#8220;<strong>It&#8217;s like a life insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you&#8217;re 40<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In another text exchange, Strzok tells Page:\u00a0&#8220;I am riled up. Trump is a f*cking idiot, is unable to provide a coherrent answer,&#8221; and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;I CAN&#8217;T PULL AWAY, WHAY THE F*CK HAPPENED TO OUR COUNTRY (redacted)??!?!<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Page then messages Strzok, saying &#8220;And maybe you&#8217;re meant to stay where you are because you&#8217;re meant to\u00a0<strong>protect the country from that menace<\/strong>.
