Reilly (@ryanjreilly) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ryanjreilly\/status\/1159552051719921664?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 8, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>McCabe was fired after the DOJ&#8217;s Inspector General issued a criminal referral based on findings that he &#8220;<strong>made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor &#8211; including under oath &#8211; on multiple occasions<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Specifically,\u00a0McCabe authorized an F.B.I. spokesman and attorney to tell Devlin Barrett of the Wall St. Journal, just days before the 2016 election, that the FBI had not put the brakes on a separate investigation into the Clinton Foundation &#8211; at a time in which McCabe was coming under fire for his wife taking a $467,500 campaign contribution from Clinton proxy pal, Terry McAuliffe.<\/p>\n<aside id=\"in-content-dianomi\" class=\"placement placement-embedded placement-dianomi\"><\/aside>\n<p>Then\u00a0<strong>he lied about it to the inspector general four times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In his defense, McCabe said said that his boss &#8211; former FBI Director James Comey,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2018-04-18\/comey-calls-mccabe-liar-mccabes-attorneys-fire-back\"><em>knew about and authorized the leak<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BREAKING?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BREAKING<\/a>: Statement from Andrew McCabe\u2019s attorney claims McCabe told <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Comey?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Comey<\/a> repeatedly that he was working with The Wall Street Journal. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dAptPpvvzj\">pic.twitter.com\/dAptPpvvzj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealSaavedra\/status\/986695115560271872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 18, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Comey, in response,\u00a0<strong>called McCabe a liar<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<em>The View,\u00a0<\/em>after host\u00a0Megan McCain asked how he thought the public was supposed to have &#8220;confidence&#8221; in the FBI amid revelations that McCabe lied about the leak.<\/p>\n<div class=\"SandboxRoot env-bp-350\" data-twitter-event-id=\"1\">\n<div id=\"twitter-widget-1\" class=\"EmbeddedTweet EmbeddedTweet--cta js-clickToOpenTarget\" lang=\"en\" data-click-to-open-target=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealSaavedra\/status\/986695115560271872\" data-iframe-title=\"Twitter Tweet\" data-scribe=\"page:tweet\" data-twitter-event-id=\"3\">\n<div class=\"EmbeddedTweet-tweetContainer\">\n<div class=\"EmbeddedTweet-tweet\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>It\u2019s not okay. The McCabe case illustrates what an organization committed to the truth looks like<\/strong>,\u201d Comey said. \u201c<strong>I ordered that investigation.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Comey then appeared to try and frame McCabe as a &#8220;good person&#8221; despite all the lying.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Good people lie<\/strong>.
