Chumley &#8211; The Washington Times<br \/>\nANALYSIS\/OPINION:<\/p>\n<p>If\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">George Soros<\/a>\u00a0is the billionaire guy all the ideologically right types love to hate \u2014 with good reason, really \u2014 and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Charles Koch<\/a>\u00a0is the billionaire of Big Business adoration \u2014 meaning, the guy the ideological left love to hate \u2014 then what\u2019s up with their partnering for an \u201canti-war\u201d think tank called the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/quincy-foundation\/\">Quincy Foundation<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the answer: Because\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">Soros<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Koch<\/a>\u00a0are both cut from the same globalist cloth.<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">Soros<\/a>\u00a0is busily bouncing money into political causes that advance his progressive-slash-socialist views,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Koch<\/a>\u00a0is busily pouring equal amounts in cash for causes that advance his Wall Street views. For example? For example, for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Koch<\/a>, it\u2019s money before borders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBillionaire Koch Brothers Launch Super PAC to Support Open Borders\u2019 Politicians,\u201d one Breitbart headline\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/09\/10\/billionaire-koch-brothers-launch-super-pac-to-support-open-borders-politicians\/\">ran<\/a>, just about a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Charles Koch<\/a>\u00a0wants a more open border,\u201d another headline, this one from The Washington Post,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/powerpost\/paloma\/daily-202\/2019\/04\/03\/daily-202-charles-koch-wants-a-more-open-border-immigration-is-one-reason-he-s-backed-away-from-the-gop\/5ca38a9b1b326b0f7f38f2eb\/\">said<\/a>\u00a0just this past April. The rest of the headline? It read: \u201cImmigration is one reason he\u2019s backed away from the GOP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Right.<\/p>\n<p>Right into the corner already occupied by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">Soros<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And now the two bored billionaires are preparing to pool their ample resources to fund The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, with a planned launch date of September. Both coughed up an initial half-million for the endeavor. The Boston Globe reported several other donors had put in a collective $800,000 more.<\/p>\n<p>America, beware.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"pagebreak\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Koch<\/a>\u00a0has a record of pressing for limited government and tea party-type principles \u2014 in contract to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">Soros<\/a>, who always goes for the Big Government solution to all. But.<\/p>\n<p>But.<\/p>\n<p>When asked in a long-ago interview about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">Soros<\/a>\u2018 far-leftist principles,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Koch<\/a>\u00a0offered up this rather lame explanation, as noted by The Independent: \u201c[He\u2019s just not] been sufficiently exposed to the ideas of liberty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Really? \u2018Cause Soros has led the, what \u2014 sheltered life?<\/p>\n<p>No. It\u2019s not that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">Soros<\/a>\u00a0hasn\u2019t been exposed to liberty, or that he hasn\u2019t been educated on the roots of liberty \u2014 or on the tremendous gift of liberty America offers in its guiding principle of independence, \u201cWe hold these truths to be self-evident,\u201d \u201cthat [all] are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/george-soros\/\">Soros<\/a>\u00a0has indeed been exposed to these principles of liberty, but flatly rejected them.<\/p>\n<p>And now\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Koch<\/a>\u00a0is joining these hands? That\u2019s akin to President Donald Trump calling on Barack Obama to serve as his secretary of State. Or to the House Freedom Caucus asking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to develop its economic plans and platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Or to the pope asking for the Church of Satan to host upcoming Catholic Church Christmas services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn an editorial for the Globe, historian Stephen Kinzer, who spoke to the co-founders, said the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/quincy-foundation\/\">foundation<\/a>\u00a0was likely to advocate for a return to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria and Afghanistan, and for less confrontational approaches to perceived adversaries such as Russia and China,\u201d The Independent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/us-politics\/george-soros-charles-koch-quincy-institute-think-tank-anti-war-a8982216.html\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For starters.<\/p>\n<p>And then there was this, from Stephen Wertheim, one of the five\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/quincy-foundation\/\">Quincy Foundation<\/a>\u00a0co-founders: \u201c[We will]\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/george-soros-charles-koch-fund-081142839.html\">proceed<\/a>\u00a0from the premise that foreign policy should secure the safety and well-being of the American people while respecting the rights and dignity of all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well and good. But those are just words. And guess what other body promises safety and security of all while respecting the sovereign wills of individual nations? The United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>The very United Nations that constantly sticks its U.N. noses into U.S. business, demanding concessions on everything from climate change to voting policies.<\/p>\n<p>This is the stage that\u2019s being set for the Soros-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/charles-g-koch\/\">Koch<\/a>\u00a0partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Wait and watch: The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/quincy-foundation\/\">Quincy Foundation<\/a>\u00a0will soon, very soon, become one of the left\u2019s go-to sources for talking points on how America ought to run foreign policy.
