{"id":124283,"date":"2019-06-24T22:07:32","date_gmt":"2019-06-25T02:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=124283"},"modified":"2019-06-24T22:07:32","modified_gmt":"2019-06-25T02:07:32","slug":"trump-bolton-playing-good-cop-bad-cop-after-iran-fiasco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=124283","title":{"rendered":"Trump-Bolton Playing &#8216;Good Cop, Bad Cop&#8217; After Iran Fiasco"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Trump Unleashes On Uber-Hawk Bolton: We&#8217;d Be Fighting &#8220;The Whole World At One Time&#8221;<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->ZeroHedge.com<\/p>\n<p>n a stunningly frank moment during a Sunday\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/meet-the-press\/president-trump-s-full-unedited-interview-meet-press-n1020731\">Meet the Press interview<\/a>\u00a0focused on President Trump&#8217;s decision-making on Iran, especially\u00a0last week&#8217;s &#8220;brink of war&#8221; moment which saw Trump draw down readied military forces in what he said was a &#8220;common sense&#8221; move, the commander in chief\u00a0<strong>threw his own national security advisor under the bus in spectacular fashion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Though it&#8217;s not Trump&#8217;s first tongue-in-cheek denigration of Bolton&#8217;s notorious hawkishness, it&#8217;s certainly the most brutal and blunt take down yet, and frankly just plain enjoyable to watch. When host Chuck Todd asked the president if he was \u201cbeing pushed into military action against Iran\u201d by his advisers in what was clearly a question focused on Bolton first and foremost, Trump responded:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cJohn Bolton is absolutely a hawk.<strong> If it was up to him he&#8217;d take on the whole world at one time, okay?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WATCH: President Trump tells Chuck Todd that he has doves and hawks in his cabinet. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MTP?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#MTP<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/IfItsSunday?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#IfItsSunday<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trump: \u201cI have some hawks. Chuck we&#8217;ve spent\u00a0<strong>7 trillion dollars<\/strong>\u00a0in the Middle East right now.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It was the second time this weekend that Trump was forced to defend his choice of Bolton as the nation&#8217;s most influential foreign policy thinker and adviser.
