Two Former Republican Lawmakers Found Shot Dead At Home In Same Week<\/h1>\n

Two Republican state Senators were found shot dead in their homes this week.<\/p>\n

First, former Arkansas state Senator Linda Collins-Smith, 57, was found shot dead in her home several days after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.\u00a0According to\u00a0CBS News<\/em><\/a>, her death is being reported as a homicide.<\/p>\n

CBS Little Rock affiliate KTHV\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0the remains were found outside Collins-Smith’s home in Pocahontas.\u00a0Authorities were unable to identify the remains until they were studied by the state crime lab.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The state police said in a statement\u00a0the agency received confirmation the remains were Collins-Smith’s Thursday morning.\u00a0<\/strong>“Special Agents of the state police Criminal Investigation Division along with deputies of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department are continuing their work related to the case,” the state police said. –CBS News<\/a><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
