<\/a><\/p>\nUPDATE: An exclusive interview with Hunter Kelly reveals that he was allegedly\u00a0set up<\/a>\u00a0by known fraudster Jacob Wohl.<\/p>\n The mayor of South Bend, Indiana and an upstart 2020 presidential candidate has been accused of sexual assault.<\/p>\n \u201cMy name is Hunter Kelly. I am 21 years old. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do. For the past three nights, I have not slept even a single hour. I have vomited eight times,\u201d Kelly said in a Medium\u00a0blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n He continued:<\/p>\n I was sexually assaulted by Mayor Pete Buttigieg. I didn\u2019t know who he was back in February, only that he told me he was an important politician. When I started seeing him on television three weeks ago as a Presidential candidate, I thought about coming forward.<\/p>\n I am a gay man. I have been grappling with my identity for a number of years. I live, work, and attend college in rural Michigan. I know that by coming forward, I will make a hard life even harder. But I must do so\u200a\u2014\u200aI must do so\u200a\u2014\u200afor my country, for other gay men like me, and most importantly to stop a very bad man from becoming President of the United States.<\/p>\n I must confess that this is the toughest thing I have ever had to do. For two weeks now, I have been contemplating suicide. I see myself jumping from a building or a bridge. Here\u2019s what we found:<\/p>\n There is a\u00a0Facebook page<\/a>\u00a0under the name \u201cHunte Kelly,\u201d which has been active for years and whose photos match the profile photo of the\u00a0Medium blog<\/a>where Kelly made his accusation.<\/p>\n Compare a Facebook photo:<\/p>\n To the Medium photo:<\/p>\n In the Medium post, Kelly describes himself as a 21-year-old who attends a college in rural Michigan. That description fits with a post on the Hunte Kelly Facebook page, which says he began a program at Ferris State University in 2018. Ferris State is, indeed, in rural Michigan. It is well north of Grand Rapids.<\/p>\n A Ferris State\u00a0Dean\u2019s list<\/a>\u00a0post from fall of 2018 also shows that a Hunter Kelly is enrolled, and apparently a good student.<\/p>\n Some Facebook posts show that Kelly is a Trump fan:<\/p>\n Hunter Kelly also has an\u00a0Instagram account<\/a>, which lists him as a Ferris State student. The profile photo appears to match both Facebook and Medium, though the account itself is set to private.<\/p>\n Hunter Kelly also has a recently-opened\u00a0Twitter account<\/a>, which he used to share his Medium post Monday.<\/p>\n The account recently posted a Tweet explaining that he has received hundreds of phone calls and messages from reporter, and is sorting through them to do an interview.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve received hundreds of phone calls today from journalists doing dogged reporting. They\u2019ve called my school, my friends, my family and people who barely know me. I\u2019m now sorting through my messages to do an interview about my horrific experience.
