Jim Himes (D-CT)<\/li>\n<li>Caitlyn Caruso,\u00a0<strong>a 22-year-old survivor of sexual assault<\/strong>\u00a0who told the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>\u00a0that Biden &#8220;rested his hand on her thigh &#8211;\u00a0<strong>even as she squirmed in her seat to show her discomfort<\/strong>,&#8221; three years ago, before hugging her &#8220;just a little bit too long.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>D.J. It\u2019s all ready to go.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>President Trump mocked Biden during Tuesday night&#8217;s\u00a0National Republican Congressional Committee Annual Spring Dinner:<\/p>\n<div class=\"max-width-video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\"><iframe id=\"fitvid416431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pvZ_YA4gEY8\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s defenders &#8211; including actress Alyssa Milano, who went from &#8220;Believe all women&#8221; to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CalliNorton\/status\/1113109544702500869\">Cut Joe some slack<\/a>&#8221; &#8211; have mounted a vigorous defense of the former Vice President.<\/p>\n<p>For starters, a Democratic source told the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/joe-bidens-2020-election-task-mobilize-against-creepy-joe-allegations\"><em>Daily Beast<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that Biden&#8217;s camp thinks Bernie Sanders is behind the new campaign &#8211; a charge the Sanders campaign has denied.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Neither the Bernie Sanders campaign nor anyone involved in it, planted, planned, persuaded, cajoled or otherwise urged Lucy Flores or anyone else to tell their story. Full stop, period, end of sentence.\u00a0<strong>I don\u2019t want to hear it. We didn\u2019t play a role<\/strong>,&#8221; said Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But this is why my blood boils,&#8221; Shakir added. &#8220;We have heard through innuendo and rumors that somehow this campaign was involved in Lucy Flores telling her story and\u00a0<strong>it is deeply disrespectful and shameful that any time a woman comes forward to tell her story there has to be some kind of intimation or suggestion that that person is doing so out of some political agenda<\/strong>\u00a0and or that the person may be lying\u2026 It is shameful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>One Democratic operative in touch with Biden\u2019s team said that<strong>\u00a0aides \u201cwere ready for this,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0since photos and videos of Biden walking up to, if not skirting, these lines have been publicized in the past. \u201c<strong>But living it is a lot different than thinking it will come out,<\/strong>\u201d the operative added. \u201cSeeing the stories live is different than hearing, \u2018Oh yeah, everyone has a Biden story.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Faced with these stories,\u00a0<strong>Biden\u2019s team has pivoted\u2014operating much more as an actual campaign than a campaign in waiting<\/strong>, both practically and tonally.\u00a0<strong>An email was circulated among the Biden faithful on Monday urging them to push back on any insinuation this will impact his decision making<\/strong>, after it took over 24 hours for the vice president to make an initial statement following the Friday allegation.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the push-back has happened organically, however. Over his decades in public office, Biden employed numerous top female aides, many of whom have gone on to take top roles in women\u2019s advocacy organizations and political operations. What is your reaction to these allegations? Now there\u2019s two people who have said he made them feel uncomfortable. Is it disqualifying and what is your reaction to that?<\/p>\n<p><strong>NANCY PELOSI:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>I don\u2019t think it\u2019s disqualifying because I think disqualifying is what your intention is.\u00a0<\/strong>I do think this about communication, in general, beyond this.\u00a0<strong>I\u2019m a member of the straight-arm club. I\u2019m a straight arm-er.
