Yesterday, I received a call from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DafnaLinzer?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@DafnaLinzer<\/a> who serves as managing editor of NBC\/MSNBC politics. Dafna&#39;s conduct during the call was highly inappropriate and unethical. So what was the purpose of her call? <\/p>\n<p>She called me to bully me on behalf of the DNC.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Yashar Ali \ud83d\udc18 (@yashar) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/yashar\/status\/1111678823072854016?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 29, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Ali explained it started when he got tipped about the possible dates of Democratic debates, calling it an \u201cinnocuous scoop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he wanted to be first with the report and called the DNC for confirmation\u00a0and comment. The\u00a0DNC asked for a delay, and Ali said he couldn\u2019t wait.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo minutes later I received a call from Dafna,\u201d Ali wrote. \u201cDafna told me that she received a call from the DNC and was told I had a story. \u2026. What was strange was that she was calling me and taking a menacing tone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe asked if I could hold the story and I said I couldn\u2019t. She was agitated \u2026 then she got angrier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI realized that @DafnaLinzer, the head of all political coverage for NBC News and MSNBC wasn\u2019t calling to advocate for her network, she was calling to advocate the DNC\u2019s position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cI kept telling Dafna no, that I wasn\u2019t waiting. And she kept getting more frustrated. She was exasperated \u2026 she didn\u2019t understand why I couldn\u2019t wait for the DNC to make their state notification calls. \u2026 I was so surprised \u2026 that she was talking this way with a total strangedr. The head of the political division was trying to bully me at the behest of the DNC over a dumb scoop (even though they may not have asked her to).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ali reported she eventually threatened to call his editors.<\/p>\n<p>The Fox News\u00a0Channel\u2019s Brit Hume reacted: \u201cWhat we have here is the managing editor of NBC politics acting on behalf [of] the Democratic National Committee.
