{"id":114296,"date":"2019-01-22T14:48:37","date_gmt":"2019-01-22T18:48:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=114296"},"modified":"2019-01-22T14:48:37","modified_gmt":"2019-01-22T18:48:37","slug":"you-really-have-to-wonder-if-they-just-tried-to-take-out-another-conservative-journalist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=114296","title":{"rendered":"You really have to wonder if they just tried to take out another conservative journalist"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Fox News anchor Baier, family in car crash, released from hospital<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->The Hill<\/p>\n<p>Fox News anchor Bret Baier and his family were in a car accident while vacationing in Montana on Monday, which CBS\u00a0late-night host\u00a0Stephen Colbert described as serious.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just found out that\u00a0he and his family were in a car accident in Montana,\u201d Colbert\u00a0said, referring to Baier, who was scheduled to be a guest on CBS&#8217;s &#8220;The Late Show.&#8221;\u00a0&#8220;Bad, like, jaws of life to get him out of there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They\u2019re all in the hospital but they\u2019re going to be OK,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And we just want to say: We hope you\u2019re doing better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBret\u2019s message to everyone out there is: They\u2019re going to be OK, thank you for your thoughts and prayers for him and his family, and please, wear your seatbelt,&#8221; Colbert added. &#8220;It makes a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baier, 48, who has a wife and two sons, released a statement on Monday night to describe the accident and to thank those who helped him and his family get to the hospital quickly. Baier is expected to be back on the air Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a weekend of skiing with my wife and two boys in Montana, driving to the airport Monday morning on icy roads, we were involved in a major car crash,&#8221; Baier said in a statement. &#8220;Thanks to a man driving by named Zach who stopped and helped, we were able to climb out of the flipped car. And thanks to the first responders and Montana Highway Patrol \u2014 we made it to the hospital quickly. We are very grateful to all of those who helped us out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My advice to everyone is to always wear your seatbelt and to count your blessings everyday. I tweeted this out as we left the hospital banged up, but alive,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Don\u2019t take anything for granted \u2014 every day is a blessing and family is everything.
