But he&#8217;s the president \u2014 she&#8217;s a new member of Congress who shot out of a cannon following the midterm elections. Kamala Harris (combining her Senate and personal accounts) had the highest Twitter engagement at 4.6 million interactions over the last 30 days \u2014 but that&#8217;s still way behind Ocasio-Cortez.<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\"><strong>Even former President Barack Obama\u00a0<\/strong>was far behind Ocasio-Cortez, at 4.4 million interactions (but she&#8217;s a lot more active on Twitter).<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\"><strong>Other notable Democrats:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Bernie Sanders: 2.6m (combined Senate and personal account)<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Nancy Pelosi: 2.6m<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Chuck Schumer: 2.4m<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Beto O&#8217;Rourke: 1.8m<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Elizabeth Warren: 1.4m (combined Senate and personal account)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\"><strong>News organizations&#8217; metrics<\/strong>\u00a0do not include numbers from their star journalists. CNN&#8217;s Jim Acosta generated 2 million interactions, compared to the network&#8217;s 3 million.<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\"><strong>On the right,<\/strong>\u00a0individual personalities out-index partisan news organizations. The biggest conservative megaphones \u2014 aside from the president \u2014 are Charlie Kirk (7.3 million interactions) and Donald Trump Jr., whose 1.86 million interactions eclipsed his nemesis, the New York Times&#8217; 1.84, by a hair.<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\"><strong>The volume of tweets<\/strong>\u00a0is an important variable to consider:\n<ul>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Trump: 9.1 tweets per day<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Ocasio-Cortez: 5.8<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Harris: 9.7<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">Obama: 0.4<\/li>\n<li class=\"StoryBody__item--1cHYD\">CNN: 136<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"StoryBody__paragraph--2-Doz\"><strong>Two notes about the data:<\/strong>\u00a0Not listed is\u00a0<a class=\"StoryBody__link--10w8x\" href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2018\/11\/why-fox-news-hasnt-tweeted-for-a-week.html\">Fox News, which has boycotted<\/a>\u00a0Twitter since November.
