No science or story defines the common cause of the spasmic extinctions everywhere, the oceanic pollutions, the fish stock collapses across all waters, and the ever larger-scale looting of resources across borders.<\/p>\n
It is a deeper causal mechanism than even US empire.\u00a0Transnational money tides<\/strong>\u00a0increasingly devour and poison all that exists, with even Communist-Party China destroying its own air to breathe and\u00a0grounds of a human life.<\/strong><\/p>\nWestern media are the lead PR vehicles for this\u00a0limitlessly life destructive invasion<\/strong>\u00a0and growth \u2013 the nature of fascism in all forms. Financial fascism is never named in the media, and so its\u00a0world floods of private money sequences<\/strong>, commodities and public waste grow and multiply\u00a0beneath detection<\/strong>. Throughout, the corporate media present only isolated problems, competitive spectacles and ads for the system.<\/p>\nHumanity`s common life ground<\/strong>\u00a0and universal needs are screened out. \u2018Reforms\u2019 are only more corporate marketizations and bank-driven dispossessions.<\/p>\nThe underlying law of corporate globalization [in] its media presentation is undeniable, but taboo to name. Whatever stands against the transnational corporate market as the\u00a0cosmic engine of humanity\u2019s well-being<\/strong>\u00a0is anathematized and annihilated in one nation after another.<\/p>\nThe methods range from bombing social infrastructures in Slavic and Arab societies to silencing and reversing undeniable facts exposing the lies of the system. No alternative to feeding resources into the\u00a0life-blind growth juggernaut<\/strong>\u00a0has arisen at a productive level. The media repel any real economic reform as unthinkable.<\/p>\nIn this borderless chaos of corporate globalization which now strips even the social infrastructures of the European Union to pay big banks and dispossess workers, the mass media select out whatever joins the dots of the\u00a0cumulative catastrophe unfolding on both social and ecological planes.<\/strong><\/p>\nNo real threat to\u00a0collective life security<\/strong>\u00a0computes except\u00a0constructed enemies<\/strong>\u00a0who mutate from one\u00a0Orwellian hate object<\/strong>\u00a0to the next.<\/p>\nThe collective life capital on which everyone\u2019s continued breathing, water, nutrition, biodiverse surroundings, social security and knowledge depend are not even conceived.<\/p>\n
Question: Are the politics of European and US governments contrary to the national interests of even their own nations?<\/strong><\/p>\nMcMurtry: The meaning of \u2018the national interest\u2019 is the prior question. It is the\u00a0common life interest of citizens through generational time<\/strong>. Yet you will never find this principle in the mass media, official declarations, or even academic journals. Typically the meaning is reversed\u2013\u2014for example the US orchestrating\u00a0society-destroying wars<\/strong>\u00a0in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Ukraine, and Syria. All are claimed to be for the \u2018US national interest\u2019 and \u2018global security\u2019 at once, but these very big lies are only\u00a0incantations of unaccountable power<\/strong>.<\/p>\nIn fact, all societies involved keep being destroyed all the way back to the lead invading state.\u00a0Social life fabrics<\/strong>are divided, bombed and torn apart in the Islamic world, and hollowed out at home at the same time.<\/p>\nOne dark truth persists underneath all the lies \u2013 an\u00a0endless eco-genocide of poorer peoples<\/strong>\u00a0and their life conditions across continents that profit the\u00a0transnational money party<\/strong>\u00a0alone. Is there exception?<\/p>\nThis is the world-defining fact that no corporate state or media report. They divert instead to \u201cthe terrorists threatening the civilized world\u201d. In fact this is merely the US and allies\u00a0projecting the terror onto the victims<\/strong>that fight back or on\u00a0their own jihadi constructions<\/strong>\u00a0sowing civil wars to divide and rule from without.<\/p>\nThus endless US-led bombing from one country to the next somehow avoids the\u00a0very oil-supply lines sustaining ISIL<\/strong>, the designated Evil One which has in fact been financed, armed and directed by the CIA and allies like Saudi Arabia and Turkey.<\/p>\nThat the \u2018terrorists\u2019 are a\u00a0creation of the system warring upon them<\/strong>\u00a0is another Orwellian absurdity. But it is the reigning pretext for\u00a0armed lockdown and dispossession of US-EU societies too for transnational corporate exploitation<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the ultimate global terrorism at work across cultures and borders.<\/p>\nConsider the bizarre turns on the ground of the\u00a0master big lie<\/strong>\u00a0of \u2018protecting the Free World and its allies\u2019. Turkey\u2019s despotic state under Erdogan, whose son is making millions out of running ISIL stolen oil, shoots down a Russian plane tracking the Turkey-protected ISIL oil-truck columns, and bombs only Kurds, the sole indigenous fighting force in the US-led Syria-Iraq wars.<\/p>\nIt is all so confusing until one recognizes that it is the same underlying pattern throughout. Names, cultures, even rulers make little difference. The\u00a0corporate rich always get richer<\/strong>\u00a0while peoples and their environments are ever more predated and looted in the name of their \u2018security\u2019 and \u2018freedom\u2019.<\/p>\nAt the same time, the connection between the Western rule of\u00a0armed force and financial terror<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 essentially NATO and big banks following Wall Street \u2013 is\u00a0never named<\/strong>\u00a0however much it dispossesses and ruins the citizens of the lead Western societies themselves.<\/p>\nRobotic despots called \u201ctechnocrats\u201d spread the\u00a0terror of money-control extortion<\/strong>, and liquidate all liveable social programs to force the payments. NATO armed forces stand ready to be called as\u00a0back-up enforcers.<\/strong><\/p>\nResistance is bombed within Europe itself, as in Yugoslavia and Ukraine.\u00a0War criminal facts disappear<\/strong>\u00a0into\u00a0blaming the designated enemy,<\/strong>\u00a0usually a former ally.<\/p>\nThe simultaneous\u00a0hollowing out of US and EU majorities<\/strong>\u00a0by the same\u00a0military-financial axis<\/strong>\u00a0funded by the public treasury is anathema to recognize.<\/p>\nBut the systemic financial extortion,\u00a0corporate treaty rights as absolute over nations<\/strong>, and NATO armed terror cannot succeed by themselves.<\/p>\nPervasive toxic propaganda against resistance across borders<\/strong>, special agents and forces on site at pleasure, and floods of US dollars to pay local fascisti to scream abuse and threats all participate in enforcing the final unseen objective\u2014to transform\u00a0all public wealth into transnational financial control<\/strong>\u00a0and multiplication of instruments of dispossession.<\/p>\nThis is the nature of the\u00a0global financial fascism<\/strong>\u00a0advancing beneath the public radar. Even the\u00a0food and water futures<\/strong>\u00a0of the world\u2019s peoples are bought up by Wall Street and company using US Federal Reserve cash. There is no end to the\u00a0carcinomic invasions of the public realm<\/strong>\u00a0and people\u2019s lives unless forced back from without and risen up against from within.<\/p>\nQuestion: Is the West divided against itself?<\/strong><\/p>\nMcMurtry: No matter what country you live in, perpetual war is built into this system\u2019s\u00a0exponential money-sequence demands across all cultures and borders<\/strong>. The staggering wastes of lives and public resources never end but always rise in demands. They have ever since the Reagan-Thatcher turn which is still absurdly masked as \u2018neoliberal\u2019 by the Left \u2013 a sign of the categorical confusion that allows it to go on destroying across the world. This is the division not yet comprehended.<\/p>\nAs with the Mafia in microcosm, financial fascism commands citizens everywhere to pay up or suffer the consequences of\u00a0life ruin.<\/strong>\u00a0In fact, there is no other way to keep a\u00a0system of armed extortion<\/strong>\u00a0at every level going, even if you spin it as \u201cglobalization\u201d.<\/p>\nThe key is to proclaim the opposite of \u2018freedom\u2019 and \u2018prosperity\u2019 all the way. This is the mass public relations function at which this system surpasses all others. This masking by\u00a0advanced public relations techniques<\/strong>\u00a0is the only way it can keep on going.<\/p>\nThe deprivation, invasion, and\u00a0looting of sovereign nations<\/strong>\u00a0for more\u00a0transnational private profits without limit<\/strong>\u00a0is called \u2018growth\u2019. It devours the developing and developed world at the same time.<\/p>\nEvery wage, tax, access to life means is now at risk and the demands for more private corporate rights never stop. This is the ultimate division within the West and now the East \u2013 the\u00a0life of societies<\/strong>\u00a0against their\u00a0transnational financial predation<\/strong>.<\/p>\nHow can it be believed in as \u2018the free world\u2019 by anyone with a working mind? It is totalitarian in its reach \u2013 for example, the US Executive, Legislature and Supreme Court all now\u00a0directly or indirectly controlled by the money party across parties<\/strong>.<\/p>\nIn functional terms, the US-led military is joined at the hip to\u00a0transnational bank-corporate rule<\/strong>\u00a0along with the mass media \u2013 the unseen global financial fascism operating across state and private divisions.<\/p>\nBut the new PR twist of this global fascism is to condemn violence not glorify it, while\u00a0showing and using terror and violence more pervasively<\/strong>\u00a0all the while. \u2018Neoliberal\u2019 fits this public relations mask like a glove. It conceals the absolute conflict between the people\u2019s lives and future and the\u00a0system\u2019s demands for continuous destruction to grow private money demand and sequences without limit<\/strong>\u00a0as a form of \u2018liberalism\u2019 \u2013 in fact, the original philosophy of John Stuart Mill and John Dewey, both mild socialists.<\/p>\nThus the most absolute conflict between\u00a0society\u2019s common life interests<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0borderless financial-fascist rule<\/strong>is erased by an equivocal slogan.<\/p>\nFor example, it is certainly not remotely liberal or in the interests of US taxpayers to pay out $2,000,000,000 dollars a day for the\u00a0US corporate war and terror machine<\/strong>, a\u00a0peerlessly profitable quasi-monopolist global business<\/strong>\u00a0in its own right and enforcer of the\u00a0limitlessly life-destructive system across borders<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/p>\nYet even dispossessed Greece pays billions of public money to the\u00a0transnational NATO enforcer<\/strong>\u00a0standing over it behind the foreign banks to annihilate any\u00a0embodied social resistance<\/strong>\u00a0to the\u00a0concealed invasion.<\/strong><\/p>\nWith endless cuts to social spending \u201cto reduce government costs\u201d, ever more people within Western borders have been pushed into inhuman conditions at the same time as refugees flee in millions from the\u00a0bombed states and engineered civil wars<\/strong>. Together they\u00a0overstress social life support systems<\/strong>\u00a0beyond any built capacity to manage by\u00a0systematically defunded social states.<\/strong><\/p>\nAgain the absolute division between\u00a0peoples\u2019 common life interests<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0system\u2019s DNA of consuming life organization and conditions<\/strong>\u00a0at every level cannot be denied. But no category yet recognizes it.<\/p>\nQuestion: What do you see as the importance of youth in the future of the West and the failure of policy-makers to provide for them?<\/strong><\/p>\nMcMurtry: Perhaps the worst problem of this system has been the way in which the lives of the younger generations have been sacrificed beneath notice. There is\u00a0no private profit in enabling the young to understand and flourish<\/strong>\u00a0as human beings. But there is ever more profit in\u00a0exploiting the young\u2019s increasing market demand<\/strong>\u00a0as well as cheap labor.<\/p>\nThe vast and growing global businesses of junk foods,\u00a0violence entertainment<\/strong>, and selfie-chatter have one thing in common. They depend on the young as\u00a0unthinking spenders<\/strong>. In this way the next generations are made\u00a0pervasively addictive consumers degrading human life capacities<\/strong>\u00a0the more corporate commodities are consumed by them.<\/p>\nMaximizing corporate sales and \u2018investor\u2019 profits is the sole value criterion. Even infants in the crib are consciously conditioned into this expanding addictive-junk cycle as \u201cjob-creating growth\u201d.<\/p>\n
Alarm arises in informed citizens with the latest epidemic disorder like obesity, bullying, unfitness, and failing attention spans. But the overall pattern is blocked out. Youth are conditioned to a\u00a0totalizing market of appetites and future insecurity without human meaning<\/strong>\u00a0left. Life-serving vocations are everywhere chopped to \u2018save money\u2019.<\/p>\nStudents in higher education are treated as\u00a0consumers of course packages<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0corporate university managements<\/strong>\u00a0who multiply themselves as students are forced into\u00a0debt slavery<\/strong>.<\/p>\nWith human livelihoods ever scarcer, youth depression becomes epidemic. Long-term demoralization sets in\u00a0beneath understanding of its system cause.<\/strong><\/p>\nBut banning Western ideas, clothing or music won\u2019t solve the problem. The disorder is far deeper and invades every level of life organization. The only truth is what sells. The only competition is to lower costs on life and\u00a0increase money-value outputs<\/strong>\u00a0faster. The Creation itself is destroyed by the lock-stepping money sequences to more. Over 90% of\u00a0resource extractions become waste<\/strong>\u00a0within weeks.<\/p>\nYouth everywhere are threatened by this global disorder. But prohibition of \u2018Western ways\u2019 is symptomatic. Yes, prohibit the selling of what is scientifically known to\u00a0attack life capacities<\/strong>\u00a0from junk food to extreme violence entertainment.<\/p>\nBut ethnic appearances are not the issue. They are diversions. The need is to\u00a0re-set to the lost life ground\u2014<\/strong>the\u00a0universal life needs of humanity<\/strong>\u00a0and its\u00a0ecological host<\/strong>\u00a0through generational time.<\/p>\nIt is on this common life-ground that science and religion meet, and East and West join across differences. The young long for it.<\/p>\n
Question: Why is there Islamophobia in the West?<\/strong><\/p>\nMcMurtry: Cultural differences provoke ignorance\u2014the\u00a0first level of the problem<\/strong>. But false propaganda cultivates hate. Long before Islamaphobia, US-led \u2018anti-communism\u2019 murdered millions in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Latin America. Before that, European Nazism was assisted by US transnational corporations against the \u2018communist threat\u2019\u2014which meant, decoded, whatever stood in the way of the\u00a0transnational corporate fascism already building the perpetual war system<\/strong>\u00a0on which it still thrives and grows today.<\/p>\nAfter fascist Germany and Japan were defeated, the now militarily supreme US, led by corporate Nazi partners in the US never named or prosecuted, carried on the global pogroms to holocaust proportions. So-called \u2018communists\u2019 were everywhere slandered, persecuted and warred upon even where they did not exist \u2013 a global holocaust that killed tens of millions of people and ruined as many lives.<\/p>\n
In short, the cornerstone of US ideology is its designated Enemy \u2013 whatever opposes\u00a0private corporate globalization<\/strong>. The genocide of first peoples was its original stage. Islamaphobia is one more variation on the theme. Ironically, \u2018Islam\u2019 as armed jihad \u2013the main hate object now \u2013 has been a\u00a0creation and instrument of covert-state US policy<\/strong>. It has been for decades an admitted US asset in advancing the bi-partisan project of \u2018full spectrum dominance\u2019 of the world.<\/p>\nBack in the 1980\u2019s, jihadi mass murder and mayhem were orchestrated and funded by the US to destroy a secular Afghan state led by equality for women and social guarantees.<\/p>\n
It was destroyed to bleed the USSR coming to its defense through the \u2018Afghanistan War\u2019. A\u00a0fanatically sectarian Islam<\/strong>\u00a0was led by foreign Saudi corp-man and Wahabi Osama bin Laden, with US National Security Adviser Pole Brzezinski cheer-leading the\u00a0annihilation of secular socialism<\/strong>\u00a0as the means to destroy Russia, his instituted fixation. So from al Qaeda to D\u2019aesh, the terrorist monsters have been a\u00a0Saudi-and-Sunni-based fanaticism led by the US special-forces state<\/strong>\u2014lately with ample support from Turkey\u2019s Erdogan and Gulf kings hating Shia Iran as well. But such distinctions are smeared out in the Islamaophobia of today.<\/p>\nYes, imperial colonization and destruction of the Islamic world has bled its civilization dry on a far longer and larger scale. The main modern driver has been money-oil exploitation, the fuel of world capitalism until Wall Street sold its futures. The Greater Israel project has been the\u00a0permanent enforcer in situ<\/strong>. Through all this evil \u2013 meaning\u00a0limitlessly life-destructive self maximization<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Islamic civilization has retreated into an obscurantist and\u00a0punitively authoritarian clerical rule without productive base.<\/strong>\u00a0An inward-looking mullah Islam has become the dominant line of collective belief through the chaos.<\/p>\nIt has resulted in what is not recognizable in Islam\u2019s golden years as the world\u2019s leading civilization. In Moorish Spain over centuries, for example, Islamic order demonstrated peerless architecture, arts and science that still capture the wonder of those who look today. None of the\u00a0violent in-looking practices sustaining Islamophobia in the Western mind<\/strong>\u00a0are evident.<\/p>\nLife-and limb-destroying punishments for theft, heresy, consensual sex and the face-elimination of women that provoke the anger of so many in the West seem foreign to this earlier civilisation. Certainly the death-to-non-believers fanaticism was alien to the Islamic civilisation that saved the classical secular works of Plato and Aristotle from the dark ages of the \u2018Christian\u2019 West.<\/p>\n
Today Islamophobia finds its rational kernel in the dispossession, maiming, lashing torture and legal murder of individuals for no violent offence. Persons found guilty of heresy, sexual non-conformity, criticism of the theocracy, completely personal and peaceful offenses can be legally tortured, maimed and murdered. All of this is anathema to the reasonably caring mind.<\/p>\n
It does not matter who commits this inhuman violence \u2013 whether the Spanish Inquisition, secular despots, US torturers, the Israeli occupation, or a mullah hierarchy. It is hideous in principle. For evolved humanity, life-enabling institutions and advancing knowledge form the pathway of true civilisation. An end to\u00a0paralyzing fear<\/strong>and extreme violence to non-violent persons is a dividing line of human history.<\/p>\nQuestion: Why the delay of awakening collective consciousness in the West?<\/strong><\/p>\nMcMurtry: \u2018Awakening collective consciousness\u2019 can have opposite meanings. The US-EU today claim\u00a0binding Western values<\/strong>\u00a0for every invasion of another society. So we need a criterion to\u00a0rule out group-mind aggression<\/strong>and destruction in any form.<\/p>\nA deep core of our problem is that the US has in fact no collective life interest or consciousness in its constitution, its dominant social sciences, its actionable laws, or its white fundamentalist religions. Western market and political doctrine repudiate collective consciousness in principle. Only\u00a0self-maximizing atomic individuals<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0no binding life community<\/strong>\u00a0alone exist to this\u00a0ruling mind-set<\/strong>.<\/p>\nSelf-serving corporations and consumers compete for survival according to market rules whose\u00a0algebra is life-blind<\/strong>.<\/p>\nEndless \u201ctrade agreements\u201d override\u00a0any society\u2019s collective laws<\/strong>\u00a0if they reduce expected profits to\u00a0private transnational money sequences<\/strong>. The Trans-Pacific Partnership is the latest extension of this sociopath metaphysics built into the ruling market paradigm.<\/p>\n\u201cDelay of collective consciousness\u201d is thus locked into what is called \u2018globalization\u2019, East and West. Permanent war is waged to enforce and extend it. The academy itself apes the atomic market model. Hidden in a technocratic code\u00a0few know<\/strong>, its\u00a0transnational dogmas<\/strong>\u00a0and corporate form have claimed all our countries by\u00a0secretly minted treaties<\/strong>\u00a0whose defining principle is the\u00a0absolute right of borderless corporations over all rights of sovereign nations<\/strong>, workers and environments that may conflict with\u00a0foreign \u2018investor\u2019 demands<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThe predictable result is that an increasing majority of the world\u2019s people is without sufficient livelihoods or\u00a0ecological security<\/strong>. Only market solutions are allowed. Only\u00a0self-maximizing greed<\/strong>\u00a0counts as rational in the model.<\/p>\nThe only security that matters is of this\u00a0ruling system itself<\/strong>. \u201cWho\u2019s security gets protected by any means necessary? Whose security is casually sacrificed in the process?\u201d Naomi Klein aptly asks before the long-planned mass meetings and demonstrations for climate justice in Paris when a jihadist mass-murder stopped them all overnight.<\/p>\nIt conveniently justified the state decision to ban all peaceful protests, marches and other outdoor activities during the all-nations negotiations for a new global regime. In such ways the perpetual war system and creeping police state continue rolling over opposition by all means. The greatest irony is that all this happens in the name of \u2018collective security\u2019 when, in fact, the\u00a0collective security of the living world<\/strong>\u00a0is what is continuously destroyed by this\u00a0a-priori life-blind disorder.<\/strong><\/p>\nCollective life interests and decisions are already ruled out by the\u00a0punitive regulations of transnational corporate-market treaties overriding the laws of once sovereign nations<\/strong>. Every one of these secretive treaties is controlled and minted outside of any people\u2019s vote, participation or knowledge of proceedings, and is enforced by public dispossession decided by\u00a0closed lawyer tribunals without public records or any right of appeal<\/strong>.<\/p>\nCollective consciousness is precisely prohibited from any social formation, policy or legislation limiting\u00a0private corporate profit opportunities across borders.<\/strong><\/p>\nQuestion: How could Western peoples allow it?<\/strong><\/p>\nMcMurtry: The macro pattern is unnamed. Global financial fascism advances\u00a0by ignorance of it<\/strong>. Few recognize that humanity\u2019s social evolution has in fact been reversed by a\u00a0life-blind global mechanism<\/strong>\u00a0that rules\u00a0beneath knowledge of its meaning.<\/strong><\/p>\nIts slow-motion coup d\u2019etat across nations and cultures has silently reversed post-1945 history which had developed\u00a0collective life standards<\/strong>\u00a0of human life and flourishing.<\/p>\nLook, for example, at the UN Declaration of Universal Rights, or the binding International Covenant of Social, Economic and Cultural Rights. They remind us how far human rights were being built into the order of the post-War world. Every article is a collective requirement for the protection and enablement of human life across classes and nations. Beneath these international ideals, various forms of socialism and social democracy were the choice of virtually every society and population. Racism, sexism, child abuse, ecocide \u2013the great evils were becoming consciously repudiated by a new reign of international law. Collective institutions of education, health, pensions and worker rights and unions were all advancing. There was even a competition between superpowers to achieve them across the lines of the Cold War.<\/p>\n
Then it was all reversed from 1980 on led by the corporate-fascist regimes of Reagan and Thatcher. From then on via\u00a0global currency and interest control, borderless corporate rights and armed-force empire,<\/strong>\u00a0the US-led\u00a0private money party<\/strong>\u00a0declared war on all collective consciousness and institutions that did not serve the corporate market.<\/p>\nWorking from the US\u2019s advantageous post-War position of its nuclear bombs, sea-lane and aerial military control across oceans, and private corporate rights in technology and knowledge production, the US corporate class \u2013 fresh from collaboration with the Nazis even during the War \u2013 imposed a long march backwards to private money-party control as \u201cfreedom\u201d.<\/p>\n
Social consciousness became a taboo within the academy itself. Beneath all the delusionary propaganda of \u201cthe free market and democracy\u201d, ever more\u00a0uncontrolled private money sequences propelled mass-murderous pogroms<\/strong>\u00a0and wars against collectives of all kinds. Worker and social-base strippings under ever more parroted euphemisms of \u201causterity\u201d, \u201cdeficit reduction\u201d, \u201cmarket reforms\u201d, \u201ctechnocratic government\u201d, and \u201cefficiencies\u201d became mechanical slogans mouthed by media and politicians.<\/p>\nTheir common meaning became undeniable, but never named\u2014reductions of life means<\/strong>\u00a0to citizens everywhere. Long-evolved regulations and institutions for the common life interest continue today to be dismantled, defunded and warred upon on every plane, almost in feeding frenzy.<\/p>\nYet people increasingly know the only collective awakening that works is awakening to our\u00a0shared life-ground<\/strong>through every moment, our evolved natural and social\u00a0life bases<\/strong>\u00a0without which our next breaths cannot be drawn.<\/p>\nThis is the demystified core of the world\u2019s wisdom traditions.
