She did send it,\u201d said Snipes\u2019 attorney Burnadette Norris-Weeks, who saw a draft of the letter.<\/p>\n<p>Snipes, 75, was condemned for sending results two minutes after Thursday\u2019s 3 p.m. recount deadline in the race between Rick Scott and Bill Nelson for senate.<\/p>\n<p>Snipes was also sued by Scott\u2019s Senate campaign, which alleged \u201cfraud\u201d in the vote count. Scott, Florida\u2019s governor, won the race against incumbent Nelson after a manual recount.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first lawsuit against Snipes, and the lengthy recount wasn\u2019t the first, either.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Snipes told the Guardian she felt racism was partly a reason for the backlash against her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProbably. Probably,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Because Snipes sent the results two minutes late, the state reverted to the county\u2019s first tallies instead.<\/p>\n<p>Snipes took over as election chief in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has shown she\u2019s incapable of conducting a large and important election in a way that inspires public confidence and trust,\u201d Sen.
