Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) defended a potential \u201cassault weapons\u201d buyback Friday afternoon, saying that if gun\u00a0owners defy a legislative ban, \u201cthe government has nukes.\u201d<\/h3>\n

The exchange began with conservative Twitter commentator Joe Biggs responding to a\u00a0story<\/a>\u00a0on Swalwell\u2019s Thursday op-ed in\u00a0USA\u00a0Today<\/em>, titled \u201cBan assault weapons, buy them back, go after resisters.\u201d \u201c@RepSwalwell wants a war,\u201d Biggs wrote. \u201cBecause that\u2019s what you would get.\u201d<\/p>\n
