MSNBC Puts Florida Governor Race Vote-Total Graphic Onscreen A Wee Bit\u00a0Early<\/h1>\n

It\u2019s the kind of goof that the folks who scream about \u201cfake news\u201d likely will scream about. MSNBC<\/a> this evening briefly put a graphic onscreen that showed \u201cvote counts\u201d for the Florida gubernatorial race \u2014 you know, the one being held tomorrow.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuick clarification here,\u201d a rather embarrassed All In<\/em> host Chris Hayes told viewers. \u201cJust want to say, earlier this hour, uh, we showed a graphic of the Florida gubernatorial race. May have caught your eye because our system had inadvertently populated some test numbers. Obviously, we do not yet have any vote totals here, the night before the election. That was a misfire. Don\u2019t worry. I was pretty confused when I saw it up there, to see it myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

And, of course, MSNBC had Democrat Andrew Gillum<\/a> leading the GOP\u2019s Ron DeSantis<\/a> by six-tenths of a percentage point with 99% of the ballots counted.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s going to be a long day and night in America \u2014 and, to a lesser extent, around the world \u2014 on Tuesday, so stick with Deadline for coverage of the key national races along with what\u2019s going on here in California.<\/p>\n

That is, except while you\u2019re out casting your vote in one on the most important midterm elections in recent memory.<\/p>\n
