Abrams speaks at a Young Democrats meeting (Reuters)<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller<\/p>\n<p>Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, a Republican running for governor, is opening an investigation into the state\u2019s Democratic Party for allegedly attempting to hack the state\u2019s voter registration system.<\/p>\n<p>Kemp\u2019s office made the announcement in a Sunday morning news release but did not provide any details on why it is investigating the Democratic Party for the failed hacking. The party is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2018\/11\/04\/politics\/georgia-voter-registration-hacking-attempt-investigation\/index.html?no-st=1541342372\">being probed<\/a>\u00a0for engaging in a possible cyber-crime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we cannot comment on the specifics of an ongoing investigation, I can confirm that the Democratic Party of Georgia is under investigation for possible cyber-crimes,\u201d press secretary Candice Broce said in the release. She also said the secretary of state\u2019s office alerted both the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI.<\/p>\n<p>Kemp\u2019s Democratic opponent, Stacey Abrams, told CNN Sunday that the investigation is an attempt to distract voters two days before the election.
