In an\u00a0article<\/a>\u00a0published in the\u00a0New York Times<\/em>\u2018 Book Review, five writers conjured up fantasy scenarios about President Trump\u2019s future with the Russia investigation.<\/p>\n One writer, Zoe Sharp (pictured), took liberal fantasizing to the next level and wrote a story that ends with President Trump being assassinated by a Russian agent. The Times\u2019 editors illustrate the piece, titled \u201cHow It Ends,\u201d with a Russian flag sticking out of a pistol barrel.<\/p>\n In the story, the Russian attempts to shoot the president, but his gun misfires. A Secret Service agent then offers his own pistol to the Russian:<\/p>\n The Russian waited until they were a few steps past before he drew the gun. He sighted on the center of the president\u2019s back, and squeezed the trigger.<\/p>\n The Makarov misfired.<\/p>\n The Secret Service agent at the president\u2019s shoulder heard the click, spun into a crouch. He registered the scene instantly, drawing his own weapon with razor-edge reflexes.<\/p>\n The Russian tasted failure. He closed his eyes and waited to pay the cost.<\/p>\n It did not come.<\/strong><\/p>\n He opened his eyes. The Secret Service agent stood before him, presenting his Glock, butt first.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cHere,\u201d the agent said politely. \u201cUse mine. \u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>[emphasis added]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n This assassination fantasy was published just one day before the media exploded with criticism for President Trump\u2019s rhetoric after a series of apparent mail bombs sent to many Democrat political figures Wednesday, including one\u00a0sent<\/a>\u00a0to CNN\u2019s New York office.<\/p>\n Just yesterday, @AuthorZoeSharp<\/a> published a violent piece fantasizing about the assassination of President @realDonaldTrump<\/a> in the pages of the @NYTimes<\/a>.<\/p>\n This sort of stuff is wrong.<\/p>\n No matter the person. — Jerry Dunleavy \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@JerryDunleavy) October 24, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
