<\/a><\/p>\nLess than a year before gubernatorial candidate\u00a0Andrew Gillum publicly denounced<\/a> President Donald Trump\u2019s efforts to investigate the threat of voter fraud, Gillum\u2019s brother, Marcus Gillum, voted in the 2016 general election in Tallahassee, Florida while a resident of Chicago, Illinois.<\/h3>\nAccording to Florida law, you must be a legal resident in Florida to vote in elections. Casting an illegal vote in Florida is a third-degree felony.<\/p>\n
Andrew Gillum and his brother Marcus are close. Media reports indicate they\u00a0have traveled<\/a> together and attended sporting events together. Also, Marcus Gillum has been caught up in the FBI investigation involving possible corruption in Tallahassee, Florida.<\/p>\nLeon County voting records\u00a0show<\/a> Marcus Gillum voted by absentee in the 2012 general election, absentee in the 2014 primary election, and early voted in the 2016 general election.<\/p>\nBut the trouble is, months before he cast that 2016 ballot in Florida,\u00a0Marcus Gillum, in an affidavit for an unrelated court case, swore<\/a> under oath he was a resident of Chicago.<\/p>\nAlso, according to records, Marcus Gillum\u00a0is still currently registered<\/a> to vote in Leon County at a home that his brother, gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, sold over three years ago. The Leon County Property Appraiser indicates that Andrew Gillum sold 5325 St. Ives Lane on February 27th, 2015.<\/p>\nFurthermore, Florida Department of Motor Vehicle records\u00a0show<\/a> that Marcus Gillum has not had a valid Florida drivers license since 2011.<\/p>\nMarcus Gillum has not returned repeated calls seeking comment.<\/p>\n
This information was presented to Leon County Supervisor of Elections Mark Earley. \u201cBased on this information I will initiate an investigation into potential voter ineligibility,\u201d Earley said.<\/p>\n
Earley also added that fraudulent voting is actually very difficult to prevent.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt could be that (ineligible voters) consider Leon County to be their place of residence,\u201d Earley said. \u00a0\u201cBut the reality is until they notify us that it isn\u2019t their residence, or we are notified by a different jurisdiction we have nothing to go on to remove them as an active voter.\u201d<\/p>\n
But voting irregularities involving Andrew Gillum\u2019s siblings may not be confined to his brother Marcus.\u00a0Voter records indicate<\/a>\u00a0that Monique Gillum, Andrew Gillum\u2019s sister, voted in Florida despite questions about residency.<\/p>\nMonique Gillum voted absentee in the 2012 general election, absentee in 2014 primary election, early voted in the 2016 general election, and voted in the 2018 primary election.<\/p>\n
