Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. said loose immigration policies of the past have impacted every state \u2013 and not just those along the Mexican border.<\/p>\n
Her comments came Friday in an interview on Fox\u2019s \u201cAmerica\u2019s Newsroom<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt is such a big deal,\u201d she said. \u201cThe reason is because of loose\u00a0immigration policies, every\u00a0<\/span>state is a border state and\u00a0<\/span>every town is a border town.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n Blackburn is running for the Senate against Democrat Phil Bredesen.<\/p>\n She said Tennessee welcomes the policies of President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n \u201cTennessee appreciates Donald\u00a0Trump,\u201d Blackburn said. \u201cSo you hear a lot about the Supreme Court justices, keeping tax cuts, and jobs and the economy — keeping that going, — the immigration issue\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n And she added: \u201cPeople want to make certain that we secure our border and we end sanctuary city policies.\u201d<\/p>\n The winner of the Senate race will take the seat currently held by\u00a0Sen. Bob Corker<\/a>, R-Tenn., who is retiring.<\/p>\n
