{"id":106047,"date":"2018-10-14T13:12:17","date_gmt":"2018-10-14T17:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=106047"},"modified":"2018-10-14T13:12:17","modified_gmt":"2018-10-14T17:12:17","slug":"soros-ngos-promoting-scheme-regarding-floridas-voting-rights-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation2012.com\/?p=106047","title":{"rendered":"Soros NGOs Promoting Scheme Regarding Florida&#8217;s &#8216;Voting Rights Crisis&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Soros Groups Use Hurricane Michael to Push Florida \u2018Voting Rights Crisis\u2019 Scheme<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<header>\n<h5><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-post-image\" title=\"George Soros\" src=\"http:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2017\/12\/George-Soros-640x480.png\" alt=\"Soros\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><cite>Kevin Wolf\/AP<\/cite><\/h5>\n<\/header>\n<h4 class=\"entry-content\">by Aaron Klein<br \/>\nBreitbart<\/h4>\n<h3>MoveOn.org, which has been massively financed by billionaire George Soros, is peddling a petition sponsored by another Soros-backed group claiming that Florida voters \u201ccould be disenfranchised\u201d if the state does not extend the deadline for new voters to register.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWe need to shine a nationwide spotlight on this voting rights crisis\u2014because we can\u2019t let any eligible voter lose their right to be heard in our democracy,\u201d reads the\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/petitions.moveon.org\/sign\/extend-floridas-registration?akid=218112.33790026.BCRWNP&amp;cohort=1&amp;rd=1&amp;source=mo&amp;t=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">petition<\/a>, which echoes similar calls from Democratic candidates in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The missive warns that voters could be \u201csilenced\u201d if the deadline isn\u2019t extended, arguing sections of Florida have been under a state of emergency.\u00a0The deadline to register in Florida was yesterday, one day before the hurricane made landfall.<\/p>\n<p>The petition was sponsored by Common Cause, which\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">describes<\/a>\u00a0itself as a grassroots organization consisting of \u201cmore than 1 million powerful, fearless, ordinary Americans working together to build a democracy that works for us all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Like MoveOn.org, Common Cause is\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guidestar.org\/FinDocuments\/2015\/263\/753\/2015-263753801-0d1efdad-F.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">financed<\/a>\u00a0by Soros\u2019s Open Society Foundations.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the deadline ended one day before the hurricane hit, MoveOn.org\u2019s petition claims that Hurricane Michael \u201cwill prevent many Floridians from accessing services, documentation, or resources they needed to register to vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, the Florida Democratic Party filed a federal lawsuit\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/florida-democrats-sue-to-extend-voter-registration-deadline-as-hurricane-approaches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">asking<\/a>\u00a0the state to extend the voter registration deadline by at least one week.\u00a0 This despite the ability of Floridians to register online from any location and even though the hurricane does not impact the entire state.<\/p>\n<p>Blaise Ingoglia, chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, noted that extending the deadline would allow new voters in Democrat-heavy jurisdictions unaffected by the storm to register past the state\u2019s deadline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is absolutely reprehensible that the Florida Democrats would play political games on the eve of a potentially devastating hurricane, and waste taxpayer money by filing this lawsuit,\u201d Ingoglia further charged.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<em>Florida Times-Union<\/em>\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/news\/20181009\/in-last-two-months-democrats-gain-voter-registration-advantage-in-florida-is-that-enough\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">analysis<\/a>\u00a0this week found that Democrats gained the registration advantage over Republicans during the past two months.<\/p>\n<p>John Tupps, a spokesman for Florida Gov. Rick Scott,\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/florida-will-allow-some-voters-to-register-past-deadline\/2018\/10\/09\/14c1e226-cbc5-11e8-ad0a-0e01efba3cc1_story.html?utm_term=.cf22abf502dd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">said<\/a>\u00a0just prior to the close of registration yesterday that \u201cthe governor believes that every eligible voter should be able to register to vote and Floridians can go online right now to do so.
