Flake (R-AZ), Collins (R-ME), Murkowski (R-AK), and Manchin (D-WV) are expected to vote in favor of Kavanaugh. All the Republicans are voting yes. Also, in the rumor mill, several Democrats may break ranks and back Kavanaugh.\u00a0<strong>That\u2019s the ball game, folks.<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/mattvespa\/2018\/09\/27\/breaking-we-have-the-votes-n2523402\">Townhall<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thursday&#8217;s proceedings saw a rollercoaster of emotions from both Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford &#8211; who claims he groped her at a high school party in 1982.<\/p>\n<p>Ford&#8217;s testimony\u00a0was\u00a0considered compelling, with Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) calling her an &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2018\/09\/27\/orrin-hatch-describes-ford-as-attractive-good-witness\/\">attractive, good witness<\/a>,&#8221; however betting site\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.predictit.org\/Contract\/12469\/Will-Brett-Kavanaugh-be-the-next-confirmed-Supreme-Court-justice#data\"><em>PredictIt<\/em><\/a>\u00a0showed\u00a0Kavanaugh&#8217;s odds of confirmation steadily climbing after ranking minority leader Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) laid out Ford&#8217;s case. He stands at 74% as of this writing.<\/p>\n<p>Kavanaugh, on the other hand,\u00a0<strong>shook the building with righteous indignation<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0slamming Democrats for smearing his family name and his lifetime of achievements. His opening statement was gripping and emotional &#8211; with Kavanaugh breaking down into tears several times, and seething with rage during other pivotal moments &#8211; such as when he excoriated Feinstein for\u00a0withholding Ford&#8217;s letter from the committee for several weeks before it was leaked to the press.<\/p>\n<p>Feinstein was taken aback, and immediately pivoted to a softer tact which was ultimately not convincing. Remember Sen. Dianne Feinstein\u2019s (D-CA) office had Ford\u2019s letter since July. They sat on it for weeks. They kept it from Senate colleagues.
